Servers

Whats the most used server that people use? The server I seem to be on doesn't have alot of people running around.

Also, if I switch servers would I have to make a new character?

Abassa is always full just go to your map (m) then at the top u will see a drop down key click it those are all the servers or "oceans" if it says quiet it means not so many people are on it if it says ideal means a moderate amount of people on and if it says full means u cant get in and if u were the lag would be terrible

as for making a new charcter no u can switch severs when ever u want with the same character

I prefer the quiet servers to tell ya the truth. If there arent any quiet servers.. I will opt out of playing.

It seems to stick people into the servers in order, starting at the top of the list. So Abassa is almost always full.

I do what Rose does. I switch to a quiet server almost immediately. The difference is striking, especially in Port Royal and Tortuga. And the competition for ships is much lower.

A couple weekends back, I spent most of my time loitering around the game observing how people were using different servers. I got some funny reactions from players trying to get me to go sailing, when I told them I was just observing server usage patterns.

The servers at the beginning of the alphabet, and those at the end to tend to fill up first; however, when the game experiences truly peak periods of use, the tendency seems to be for most people to just go with a random server.

It doesn't seem to be entirely a case of just looking for an "Ideal" or a "Quiet" server, as I often found servers that were listed as ideal but were actually full of people training in out of the way places.

I did find several servers that I suspected were being used by large guilds. They aren't always listed as ideal, but Savica, Guines, Navago, Patros, and Tortos all seem to have a lot of general activity. There are a few other that seem to show up regularly as active, such as Bequermo, Battama, Vachira, Navica and Pataba.

I do sort of like the quiet servers also. My usual server is Caicumal, but if that seems laggy or ends up going "Ideal," then I tend to go to Desereau, Guyago, Galaacre, or Eustabia.

Disney just needs to put in something along the lines of a guild house.. You dont understand how many times we had people just walk right into our guild meeting in ruin it.. And when you ask them to leave NICLEY they just start to bash you.. Its a bit annoying.

Isn't there a guild chat? Wouldn't it make more sense to cover the UBER SEKRIT IMPORTANT GUILD STUFF there?

If you do feel the need to physically gather all the toons in one place, find an unused room somewhere that people aren't likely to visit. If someone comes in, don't say anything. If they start getting disruptive, just SILENTLY use the ignore button. They'll go away soon enough, because all they'll see is a bunch of people standing around doing nothing.

Sometimes when you want to have a guild meetin with the officers, you dont want to go in guild chat with the members. Crew chat works best as long as you can get all crewed. I found the best place is Barbosa' cave on Anvil. Make sure your on a quiet server.

Wait...what??

I thought "Ideal" had the fewest people (thus making it "Ideal" for avoiding lag) and "Quiet" had more. Do you mean to tell me I've been logging on to the wrong servers for more than three months??

If so, I guess I'll just add it to the long list of mistakes I have already made with this, my first pirate. :psmiley35:

Quiet means its quiet, not many people. Ideal is ideal amount. Full is well....MAxed!

The BEST place would be Bronze John's shack on Outcast.

Best way I've found to have a nice quiet guild meeting, without interruptions is to have them in an empty structure. If your guild is too large to fit in the structure, glitch it and have the meeting "outside" the structure. It is easy to get "outside" of most buildings on Tortuga (there are 3 I have still been unable to glitch) and I can show you how one day, if you are interested.

The only problem with any guild meeting is that at any time, someone could "Go To" one of your members and interrupt the meeting again. I wish that they would implement a DND (Do Not Disturb) feature, to keep people from teleporting to you when it is on, or even a confirm box to be able to deny them teleporting to you. Good Luck.
