Savvy Safety Reminder for All Pirates - December 18, 2012

A savvy reminder, mates, that Disney GMs will never ask for your account information or your personal information in the game.
Even if someone acting like an official Disney Game Master promises you “rewards” – like weapons, clothing, Notoriety, or Unlimited Access – DO NOT be tricked.

Keep your account and personal info safe and private by following these rules:
  • Never give out your Account ID or passwords
  • Never share your personal information with anyone
  • Never use your username or password on fan sites, online forums, or any applications outside of Pirates Online
Giving out your account information will result in your Pirate being stolen, a ban, and likely termination of your account.

No one wants to lose all the time and effort spent building up a mighty Pirate.
Accounts terminated for hacking or sharing personal information will not be reinstated.

NOTE: Pirates Online will only ever contact you through our official Pirates Online Member Services e-mail address, [email protected], or over the phone.
Mark ye well:
ALL Pirates are expected to follow the Pirates Online Code of Conduct here.

This includes not asking other Pirates for their account and personal information, or manipulating Pirates Online’s program (or telling other Pirates how to do so), in order to change the way Pirates Online behaves.

Pirates that don't follow these rules can be removed from the game, in some cases permanently.

Contact Us here to report anyone asking for your account information, password, personal information, or ways to contact you outside of the game.
If you are unsure of a situation, just grab a parent for help.

Sail safely, mates, and treat yer account information like the secret treasure it is!

Precisely. Report them at will. Even if they run off fearing you might Report them after they made the attempt, click on their name in the chat anyway. Doesn't matter which server he/ she ran off to. The Report will count and POTCO will receive it.

When seeing others use third party software, Report it as Mean or Rude Behavior. Take several screen shots and submit that in your Bug Report. Include a shot of their Pirate Detail card info. In the Description explain what you saw. POTCO will take care of the rest.

Unfortunately, this isn't enough. This won't remind people to stop sharing information. What Disney needs to do is send people INTO the game and get it done themselves. These hackers are stupid enough that they might even ask the people D sent in for their info. A reminder will not get this done. Again - unfortunately, Disney isn't going to do this. They don't care about the game enough. If all they're going to do is put a few small words on the side of the Pirates Launcher to try and stop a gamewide issue, it won't stop a thing.

The problem is they ignore a lot of reports. Me and some friends would report people using auto clickers a bunch of times, and day after day the pirates still show up on the leader boards. I've seen screenshots of people admitting they stole the pirate they were on and then a friend would send them to Disney, those were also ignored. That same pirate would still be running around days later. What Nate said, POTCO doesn't care enough.
