3 things
I have three things to ask.
1.Should I even bother with Spirit ward? 2.Should I Max out my broadsides for sailing? 3.Should I even bother with thrust on my cutlass? |
1. I dont like Spirit ward, it does deflect someone who is tryin to heal you sometimes. I didnt get it because I have Hex on my gun. This basically stops gypsies and voodoo from workin once u drain them. So why need spirit ward when it works 2% of the time but my gun works 100 % of the time.
2. They help when ur in CQB (close quarter battle). Your crew, if u dont usually sail with one then I would highly suggest it, could use the boost once in a a while. Thrust is good to have. It looks kinda cool. I wouldnt do more than just one dot to open it up. Its a powerful attack. The strongest on the combo shots if u use them. Hope this helped. You can check out Hunter on the XD and see how I have things set. I've learned from some mistakes I made on my first pirate. Kinda gives u an idea. |
1. Most people don't, it's not necessary by any means especially for pve. I found it of value for pvp simply because it gives you that 10% chance to resist a life tap, which can be crucial. That and pretty much everyone doll kites for dps.
2. I'd suggest to do so. Sailing doesn't have too many great abilities to choose from. If I were to make an end all sailing template it would look something like this. L Broadside:5 R Broadside:5 Full Sail:1 Come About:1 Open Fire:0 Ram Speed:1 Take Cover:0 Wind Catcher:5 Tacking:0 Treasure Sense:3 Task Master:5 3. Thrust is complete ownage. I have it 5/5'd and wouldn't change it for anything. Thrust is a higher dps style than any other sword style and has a 6 second snare attached to it (just like flourish) to boot. My end all cutty spec would be. . . Hack: 1 Slash: 1 Cleave: 0 Flourish: 5 Thrust: 5 Sweep: 1 Brawl: 0 Taunt: 0 Blade Storm: 5 Parry: 3 Endurance: 5 *Brawl and Taunt are both utility sword abilities and are great while leveling but I didn't find myself using them at all after I mastered my sword. If you're interested in a 2 second stun finisher or an accuracy debuff finisher you can remove 2 points from parry to place 1 in each. There's no way anyone could convince me that more than 1 point in either was beneficial. Shifty~ |
1. i unlocked it just for the sake of unlocking it but i wouldnt put more than 1 sp on it
2. i would but it also depends on how ye sail 3. yes unlock it it does great damage and its very handy |

Maybe I have a problem saving skill points but I don't want to suffer through 24 levels of limited abilities to then set out with a weapon master and wreak untold havoc on the denizens of the game. To me the "Ultimate" build would be one that develops along with the character as you're going through the game. So if that means the points "wasted" on Brawl and Taunt don't get used much after mastering the weapon, oh well. They helped me get there and that's part of the fun of the game, improving your abilities as you go along. Those first quests are pretty simple and then they get harder until your abilities improve (and the game seems to progress along nicely in that respect) until the last quest (to get the vodoo staff) turns out to be pretty easy if you've been using the skill points as you go (other than the time spent going around to the islands). My $0.02- your mileage may vary. |
If you dont get thrust you will regret it. I deal 600+ damage with it and only have 3 points in it. Worth maxing for sure! Max broadsides and BOTH sides, I did that and now I can sink alot of things with 1 round of a broadside. Spirit Ward.. nope. Focus is great though, when it is maxed of course. Dont waste points on tacking or windcatcher, max Treasure Sense and Leadership(when it is released fully...). Non in taskmaster.

You guys are forgettin one thing. Right now we have a limit of lvl 25 on the weapons. It will be raised once the new upgrades are done. They are gonna raise the notoriety as well, this will allow us to implement the new skill available for the sailing too.
