What are those people in..

..The Isla Tormenta cave? I'm way too scared to get close and take a look myself. Plus my pirate would get KO'ed after one hit. Are they undead sailors or something?

((Also - sorry if this is posted in the wrong area - I couldnt find anywhere else that seemed to fit.))

theyre really very sweet when you get to know em :)

they have the wildest parties there.

umm as for their relative undeadness..dunno...theyre the life of the party so it should amount to something?

id guess they were living. since in the films they werent technically dead? just postponing their death in the service of davy jones.

The mulosk, saebeard etc... are the crew of davy jones

Aye - they're Living and not Undead.

That's important to know if you ever want to use specific types of ammo against them. Steel Shot works on them, for example, but not Silver Shot.

I heard the opposite. Can we get a second opinion?

They are living. Thats what the #6 shot is for. "Effective against the living but not the dead". If u remember the movie, they have to serve for 1000 years on the ship, which is why they are "Part of the ship, part of the crew!"

Samantha Wildhound 03-08-2008 11:08 PM

theyre living, as banish doesnt work on em, but gives awesome rep :)

As Tormenta - and the baddies there - are the meanest ones in the game, your adventure there usually starts around the late 20s and early 30s (though you do need to go there for part of the Pearl Quest...).

First you'll want some friends, 'cause no one there lets you leave alive very easily :) The best to fight are the Voodoo'ers (Brinescum, Molusk) because of good ol' Hex Shot - makes them stuned and then its "beat-them-up" time :)

The Unifcist and the Seabeards are the worst... Heavy Sword users, the Uni can get you in one blow even in the higher 30's and the Seabeards love using Taunt to weaken your attacks then Bladestorm you to death... it's not a pretty picture...

The latest is though they appear to be the living - and not the undead (though it does not fit in well with the Jolly Roger storyline... his troops are supposed to be all undead ???) For all purposes in the game though - they are his crew working towards his means... which means you do have to use you live ammo / spells for damage (or not for hi REP ;) )

Excellent post, Maxximvs. One slight clarification, however, on the following:

The Tormenta baddies are part of Davy Jones' crew, NOT Jolly Roger's (as has been mentioned above). That is why they are classified as "Living" and not "Undead" and so are not in conflict with the JR storyline.

In fact, having read that forthcoming storylines will use elements from the last film, we might expect more interaction with them in the future. As it is, they're pretty easy to ignore stuck way out there on their own. I find I level quite nicely without paying them a visit -- and I end up in jail a whole lot less, too.

I disagree, they are Undead in the game. I was doing a quest where I needed to kill Lv12+ Undead Skeletons and the quest would count the creatures in Tormenta as Skeletons for my quest. Undead indeed.

Totally agree with ya storm - no confusion intended (just pointing out the fact that Davy is not in the story line.... yet anyway :) )
