What do the gold-colored names mean?
 

Why are some of the pirates' names in gold letters with a gold coin next to their name? What does this mean?:sthuh:

It only means that we are unlimited Founders of the game :)

I like to tell people it means I am awesome :P

The gold name means you are a Founder of the game. A Founder is anyone who bought unlimited access before around December 2nd, I believe.

Lets just sticky this post. This question is asked over and over and over again.

Means you're a founder.. But Disney decided to extend the founder title to none beta testers, which ticked me off.

A founder was someone who joined before Dec 2nd. Why hate because they extended it to Open players too? I joined as soon as I learned of the game and missed the date by a few days :(

I signed up the day it opened live, (oct 31st 2007) and got my little gold coin. As I still consider us ALL to be "paying Beta testers" works for me :)

And I agree Hile, can we get together some sort of FAQ, as this ( as well as many other questions) comes up very frequently?

yes the gold names witht he gold "f" coin means that you became a paying member before december 2nd 2007

- if u stop paying and pay agaon u lose it
- all other charcaters made on that account will also display as founder

It means that you signed up for POTCO before Dec. 2, which was when the founder program ended. The 'F' inside the coin next to the golden name stands for founder.

Thats not true.
I left the game for two months (February and March), and didn't pay for Premium during that time. I returned to Pirates Online about a week I didn't have premium so I re-bought it and I got my Founders title back.
