Phantom Navy Panther
 

I was near the coast of Port Royal hunting the Navy War Sloop Flagship when I noticed a low textured Navy Panther light frigate had creeped up on me.

It didn't appear on my radar (it was fully zoomed out), and although it showed no firing animation I was taking damage from it. To make things worse my broadsides missed as though there was no ship there.

In the picture below you can see the low texture frigate and on the bottom of my radar out of view is the war sloop. I hope it appears alright as it's my first picture posted on the forums.

That's a nice find. Perhaps it's a bug. But if it isn't...be on the lookout for the phantom ships.

Yes, this happens to me every now and then. The first time I encountered it, it sank me :p Now I just ignore them.

It's just a bug. The ship isn't fully loaded, so you can't see it fire, nor can you hit it.

Wow. That's the 4th time I've seen that glitch. That glitch doesn't happen often, lucky you got a picture of it. :)

I saw that as well a few days ago lol. Me and my friends were on our low level characters when I spotted this when I had to sink a Navy ship;
