All of that stuff is easy to research online and at libraries. I guess it depends on what exactly are you looking for. Good luck and happy digging.

It depends on what you are looking for. Just go to Google.com or a similar searching site and type what you want to find. Libraries have a similar system. Just search their database for whatever it is you want to learn.

Blackbeard* was one of the most famous pirates of the Atlantic. He was widely known and feared, because he commonly braided his jet black beard, and stuck lit fuses under his hat, blurring out his face with fire and smoke, resembling evil. He succefully ransomed with inhabitants of South Carolina, before running aground in a sand bar in North Carolina. After recvieving a "Royal Pardon"**, he left his life of piracy and lived in Bath Town. After several years, however, he decided to return to his Pirating ways. His return attracted the attention of Virginian Govenor, Spotswood. Spotswood sent a troop of militants and sailors to atempt to capture Blackbeard. They found his ship in 1718. After a devastating battle, Blackbeard was killed, and his head was hung on the front of the ship.
*Edward Teach **A "Royal Pardon" was a pardon given to pirates. In agreement to stop pillaging and looting, they wouldn't be held for the actions. ---------------------- I got the majority of this information from my own memory, and never used wikipedia. I did, however, have to brush up on small details. If you'd like a short story of Calico Jack or Black Bart or anyone other famous pirates, just let me know. ;) |
They liked money. Not many used broadswords! In battle it was to long and if you want the ship, you could by accident cut down the rigging! So a lot used cutlasses.:dancetl6:
They not only attacked ships, but towns. Look up Henry Morgan. He attacked many towns with huge amounts of massacre. Go us, right?:psmiley27: (Sarcasm) THEIR AWESOME! A lot liked small fast ships. For sailing near land, getting away from warships, chasing slower ships, :erti078: :sailr:, not being able to be hit buy those forts with high cannons, and not being able to be hit with higher - decked ships ( They seem to have higher cannons and they can't hit lower decks ) A lot spent their money on rum, ale, wine, and weapons. Their really isn't any evidence that pirates made people walk the plank, or buried treasure.:12_1_138: Many didn't know how to read, but Blackbeard did.:bookishfj7: :pirate_flag: |
