A New Era of Partners
Two years ago, I washed up on the shores of Port Royal as a naive little pirate with big dreams of becoming a notorious female captain in a seemingly male-centric Caribbean. But never had I imagined that I would lead this guild as Guildmaster; even upon promotion to Veteran, the thought of being promoted to a higher rank never crossed my mind.
When Del told me that he was going to resign, and the Guildmaster position would be passed on to me, I was a little worried. I don't see myself as much of a leader; and I honestly still don't. Then when what seems like a large portion of the staff going pseduo-inactive for school, I became even more nervous because, until I start giving promotions, I thought I'd be on my own. But over the summer, I realized that I'm not alone: I've got an army of friends, family, and above all, Partners, behind me. And with that in mind, while I am still a bit nervous, I'm also confident that I will do my best to serve this guild as it's third Guildmaster. Operation: Liberator, a bittersweet event, will definitely go down as a historic event for the Partners. I was tasked with taking screenshots of the event, but... as you probably know, I'm forgetful. So I only got screenshots when I remembered to take them ("your new guildmaster, everyone" as Del put it). (Crest's Victory Shark looks very similar to Del's, so a small group that admittedly included myself, followed Crest around thinking that she was Del... oops...) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37215601/Pro...20Chat%201.PNG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37215601/Pro...20Chat%202.PNG As Del put it, though, this shouldn't be a sad event--he isn't leaving the game, rather he's simply just passing on the torch, marking the beginning of a new era of Partners N Crime. Though I have only known him and been a member for the past two years out of his four, I feel like I've known him for a lifetime; we have more than a simple "member-guildmaster" relationship. Over these past couple years, we've become rather close friends, and, suffice to say he is truly one of the strongest, most courageous, and most caring friends that I have ever had. While he may not be going inactive, active or inactive Delmaria will still be known as one of the finest men to have ever graced this guild, and one of the most notorious Guildmasters in the Caribbean, and we will always be partners 'til death. |
Oh sorry I didn't make it, didn't realize when the event was, plus it was a football Saturday, Congratulation to the new GM!! Good luck!!
