Grape Shot against NPC crews
 

Can grape shot be used on NPC's? In the discription it says it can be used on sea monsters and PVP crews.
This doesnt make much sense to me and I surly dont want to waste a skill point on it if you cant use it against Navy NPC crews.

Thoughts on it...
 

At this time, grape shot doesnt appear to have much of a use in the game. However, based on the description, and knowing that Disney has just started with this game, it is my belief that they will introduce things that will make the grape shot worth it.

You can shoot npc's woith any cannon type, it being round shot or flame shot, you can kill NPc's. If you're a bad shot, then use grape shot.

I use grape all the time before i board a ship, to get the captain. Seems much easier to use than regular cannon.

I just use the regular shot to kill the captain. No point in wasting a skill point just to kill the captain.

I don't consider it a waste. It'll be useful during ship PVP, and if/when the Kraken come into the game :) I have it unlocked on all of my pirates.

yea its mainly made for ship pvp other than that its useless

I must politely disagree... I sail frequently with a fairly large crew. At least half the time, someone gets left behind, and we find grape shot to be immensely helpful especially when fighting on the higherlevel flags. Whoever gets left behind uses the F1 button to unfreeze, then grabs the nearest cannon and fires away at the enemy crew. It does't harm us, and kills the enemy. Spend an extra skill point, that I don't know, but at least unlock it for sure.

Ya, I prefer to use round shot when this happens. For me, it does way more damage and I can hit more than 1 NpC if thier close together.

Same here. My big pirate has the grape and chain and rarely ever uses them. My lil pirate dont have any at all. Nor did she get Explosives. I've never actually used them once!!
