Sorry to hear that mate. In such cases, and assuming every thing is updated, players need to check the correct Graphics API from their Launcher first. Its the first window that pops up when you open/ start the game.
By default, the game selected Open GL. Try DirectX9. Then click Continue. Proceed in starting the game. When you arrive at the Main Screen, seeing your pirate stand there, select Options, choose Medium settings, and Save. Then Quit the game so that these new options kick in better by relaunching the game. Relaunch the game and then choose a Quiet server to test these new settings. If the lag is gone and there are no blurry images while your pirate is 'testing' his/ her newfound freedom of looting and plundering the fortunate ones, then you're good. Please let us know the results. |
it seems to have helped alittle, i can play on a ideal now with sum lag. but at least its not unbearable. tyvm do u have any other fixes?

Glad to hear that things improved. What kind of video card is your laptop using?
|
a radeon thats all i know lol, but now its back to lagging again. :(
|
Try clearing your POTCO Cache file. Try updating your graphics and audio drivers. (I know audio sounds silly but trust me). And a side note, normally graphics on laptops aren't good but there are exceptions and from the looks of it, your laptop should be able to run pirates quite nicely.

I Have Done all Of what yall said and i still lag, idk i guess i cant play it anymore. :(

Open the game launcher and choose DirectX8. I know this sounds crazy but one friend of mine saw vast improvements. Someone in POTCO told her to and her comp is new. Maybe your Radeon will work better.
Another thing turn Reflections off in the main screen's video settings. Make sure you do not have any shadows checked. Less detail is best. And use a 1024 x 768 screen resolution. Let us know how it went. Good luck. |
ty for all ur help i tyred using directx 8 an it keeps crashin so i use directx 9 in windowed an it seems not to lag as bad

My PC should be overkill for the game, along with my connection, yet I also experience some crazy lag. Most noticeable of which is while sailing. It looks like enemy npc ships kind of stutter across the sea rather than smoothly sail. Like they pause and go every 1-2 seconds. It really is an intolerable kind of lag.
