More Damage, More Rep?
 

Here's the thing, when I was in Cursed Caverns leveling my staff,
I thought is it better to do more damage for a lot of rep, or how
many times you hit the enemy for a lot of rep. Which is better
to do to level up faster. I was thinking doing more damage, but
I'm not fully sure.

There are numerous factors that go in to gaining reputation from an NPC - the level of the enemy, how that correlates to your level, the level of the weapon you're using, what kind of weapon you're using, etc.

When leveling, it is preferred to use the weakest possible weapon, using the attack that causes the lowest damage, as many times as possible, for the largest reaping of rep. If I were to attack a Seabeard with a rusty cutlass and use only Hack and Slash over and over again, the amount of rep I would get from it would be much larger than if I went in and decimated it with a single Bladestorm. Just remember when leveling that the more attacks it takes to kill an enemy, the more reputation you will gain from it.
