what does this mean?

when i was sailing all by myself and fighting a revnant (however you spell it) it said Kracken is coming to visit you and out of nowere someone named Kracken came on my ship and shot a few lightning bolts at the revnant. i have no friends name Kracken or any ships around me :psmiley27: :skull: so what is this?

Someone that was on the island you were on before you went on your ship clicked on you, and when you got on your ship he teleported to you.

Wendot 02-29-2008 03:51 AM

This same thing happened to me with some random pirate. This pirate was not my friend and was not in my guild, but there was a message that "___ is going to you" while I was sailing ...only to send me constant requests to join his crew. I didn't appreciate this stowaway and I don't know how it happened! I didn't think you could board anyone's ship without establishing a relationship first.

Gabyta 02-29-2008 04:43 AM

oh.. that's so wrong..
I didn't know that could happen. There should be an option to boot or block your ship.
Sometimes the players don't listen when they have to stop shooting or which ship to they have to attack. :(

accept the friend request then report them... I don't do it often but if they go as far to board my ship without even asking... they deserve it.

if you can drop them off someplace like Padres, all the better. Tormenta or Cutthroat would work too.

They could even be sailing next to you and if u get close enough, click on you and go to you on ur ship. Had that happen plenty. All you can do is sail to land and drop them off. If they continue, then just switch servers.

The way they do this is at the docks when you are waiting to board your own ship...
All they have to do is click on you before you go to your ship... then give it a few minutes for you go get on your ship.. then click "go to". Ive had that happen a lot. I think its pure **** and sneaky.

Crazyguy36 02-29-2008 04:42 PM

Never happened to me...but then again I say yes to all friend requests to give them a chance to do good, most of the time they do fine. Maybe its someone you said no too getting revenge.

Easy answer. Everyone in your guild can teleport to you without being on your friends list. Disney forgot to tell us about this great but sometimes annoying feature on the "Game News" section...

Carnage 02-29-2008 05:30 PM

Oi. The Kraken used it's powers and helped ye HEH HEH HEH:laughks2:

We could atleast have a boot option with a plank where a cutscene happens when you walk them off the plank They fall into the water and swim toward the nearest Wild Island or Main Island

The person was not in my guild, though.

I think the other posts hit the nail on the head. I guess my proximity and "go to" allowed the person on my ship without my knowing. I did sail to Kingshead and he was promptly sent to prison. :)

Good for you!

Quite a few of us have been complaining about this for awhile now. I've even gone so far as to call PotCO to register my disatisfaction with this "feature".

Back in the Release Notes of Jan. 18, they wrote:

Removed avatar panel pop-up that occurred when clicking on other ships. This was allowing people to teleport to another player's ship even if they were not friends, crew mates, or Guild mates.
That still hasn't solved the problem, however.
