My money maker

Basically, I just start ed doing this, and have only made about 3,000 off of it, but I did that in just 6 games of Blackjack. Basically, every time I've got a couple of face cards (10's included in Blackjack's case), I head to Padres, and raise it to the max bet of 500 gold. Chances are good that you'll get a face card, so you can replace the lower card with your face card, giving you 20 or 21 usually.
can
Obviously, there are a lot of ifs, so it really depends on you to be able to not waste cards, and accept a loss, knowing you can earn it back later.

But, the real reason I'm starting this thread, is because, obviously I need cards to continue to make money this way. What do you recommend as a way to get cards? What quests could I do repeatedly to get cards to cheat with?

Thanks :D

You can earn cheat cards several ways:

- Randomly when you defeat enemies
- Black Mack's side quest in one of the Rowdy Rooster (Port Royal Tavern)
- Shane McGreeny's three side quests in Royal Anchor (Port Royal Tavern)

Can anyone think of any others?

Swapping doesn't reduce the nubmer of cards you have, it's just an exchange. So sit down at a low limit poker table (Port Royal). Swap out one of your low cards for an Ace or other paint before you fold. Stock them up for blackjack where you can bet as much as you like. I would use them only for making a Blackjack or for splititng Aces when the dealer has a 4-5-6 showing. Low cards can be used to give you an eleven for doubling down when the dealer has a weak card showing.

I tried this and got caught cheating LOL!

It happens, but this thread helped me buy my new galleon. And now Im saving up for a full deck of cards. I've done the quests Remiboncoeur mentioned so many times and now I'm half way there. Yes, I have slightly over 26 cards.

Is there like any cheats to get gold. Like press buttons and get the money?

Jack I 05-15-2008 01:15 AM

No, frankie. Anything like that would break Disney's "Terms of Use" even if it did exist, which can result from suspension/termination from the game. ^^

OK One thing to clarify is, someone says you swap cards, so the card u switch with, goes in ur hand? So if I have alot of lower cards, a bad hand...I switch the lower cards with a face card, I get face cards?

Lady Freckles 05-15-2008 02:38 AM

Good question - do you actually 'swap' cards or do you just change the card in your hand for the one in your 'card bank'?

I only play cards when I'm forced to by quests so have never really paid attention to that. I assumed (yes I know what happens when you do that) that once I swapped a card, it was gone and the card I swapped it with was gone too.

Anyone have 'for sure' answer about this ... ?

I found that blackjack was the easiest way for me to make gold as well.

I didnt know when you swap cards, that cards went back into your 'deck'. I will have to check that out, cool way to get some more aces.

When you are caught cheating you are penalized 100 gold, PLUS all the gold you won since you sat down. To keep such penalties to a minimum, when you win a hand, cheating or not, stand up, and then sit back down. This resets the amount won to 0, thereby limiting the penalty when/if you do get caught.

Another trick I found, that really doesnt help... If I logout immediately after having been caught cheating.. I dont go to jail.

Although its not alot of gold, the easiest gold I found that I could make was to do all 3 quests from the guy hiding behind a barrel in port royal. Not alot of gold, but sink one ship (not the ones he says).. ANY ship, and it fills all 3 quests.

Good ol' Bart! Hes so cool I actually have him in one of my Music Videos! LOL

Watch out for ol' Bart though - if you take all three of his quests (for 105 Gold) then head off - he tends not to give them to you again (unless you log out or sail to another town then comes back...)

Take only his first two quests (for 70 Gold) run out and sink his requests - then return and taadaa! He lists all three again! The time it takes to do two runs for 70 gold (140) is much faster than one run of three (105) then having to logg all the time I find - plus what you earned on the runs tends to give a nice little sum :)

His quest is bugged. Despite saying that you need specific ship types, any ship will work. Most times, all three quests are filled by sinking one ship. Sometimes, one of them won't be, and that requires a second sinking.

And you don't have to log, just switch servers.

I go the route of taking all three of his quests at once, completing them, then waiting 20 minutes for Pirates to disconnect me for some odd reason (trying to board a ship...porting...tp to crew/guild/friend....or sometimes, i believe, jus to test my dedication). Then when I get back online, the quests are back..YAY:laughks2:
