I thought I quickly glanced a message stating "Happy New Years" then disappearing after I refreshed.

btw, are you using RGB or hexadecimal values to get these colors?

I thought the purple-pinkish color for the message was fine.

The holiday announcements are done with a feature of vB called notices. We just add some html to what we want it to say and it displays on the desired time, date, section of the forums, or usergroup that we want.

I wish I had access to html posts.
