Achievement system

This is something the developers can implement to give mastered pirates something to do besides SvS, PvP, and Invasions.

Achievements only unlock after you've reached level 50 Notoriety with your pirate (So you still have tons to do after, not complete these achievements before you reach 50)

Achievements in the game should also reward game items such as:

- Gold
- Achievement-specific weapon when you complete a specific achievement
- Sailing items
- Stat boost potions
- Storage safes (Also upgraded versions of it for following achievements)
- Game items that grant you special abilities (For those hard, long, grind-like achievements)

Ex. Attack with a 2% of poisoning the enemy while attacking with Sword-class weapons

Ex 2. Respond to enemy attacks with a 20% chance of returning 5% damage back at the enemy

Well, these achievements would range from tasks such as:

- Reach 20,000 total gold
- Repair your ship 1000 times
- Sink 50,000 ships
- Travel 5,000 miles on foot
- Craft 5 of each potions from the Potions table (excludes event and Loot Drop potions)
- Reach an attack combo of 300 with your Sword-class weapons
- Deal 3000 damage with a single row of combos/skills from any weapon
- Obtain all teleport totems for main islands
- Get a bounty of 30k in SvS
- Take out 3 opponents in a row without dying
- Take out 6 enemies with 1 attack

Etc. You see how creative we can get with these achievements? Let me remind you, this is only a BASIC list of the creative requirements they can implement.

Think of how much purpose it would bring to be a mastered pirate.

Tell me what you think about it.

Aye, this idea is great mate.
Good thinking...

Sounds Fantastic! Maybe for additions to Achievements would include stuff with the coming update, like Get the [CopperHead/Skull and Crossbones/Storm Chaser/Firestorm/Fortune Hunter] Rank 4 Hull Upgrade; Sink an EITC Juggernaut with a Rank IV Hull Upgrade; Live through multiple explosions from Powder Keg Runners; Get the Summon Chicken potion from the Black Pearl Boss Battle at least 3 times; and Claim all 7 Legendary Weapons.

This is a good idea. Though we'll need at least three more pages of inventory, or we'll have to keep deleting stuff. Plenty of players have no more room in their inventory, and it could anger them if they can't have a special prize because of this...

Exactly!

The achievements could be as simple as fight at least 10 different boss enemies in the caribbean OR be as creative as sink 5 hunter ships in a row without repairing your ship (The mini game where the circles are).

The possibilities for achievement, even creative ones are endless.

We need the implementation of the Storage Chest before this update comes.

Exactly!

I needed help coming up with the names. Thanks Thunder!

Yes, this is how the achievement system in POTCO should be like. Fun, creative, and challenging tasks.

If enough people send feedback in for this, they may start considering it. You can send in the below if you want, to see if they'll respond to it quicker or something. This suggestion would benefit everyone because there will be achievements for all activities possible in the game.

This is something you, the developers, can implement to give mastered pirates something to do besides SvS, PvP, and Invasions.

Introducing the Achievement system:

Achievements only unlock after you've reached level 50 Notoriety with your pirate (So you still have tons to do after, not complete these achievements before you reach 50)

Achievements in the game should also reward game items such as:

- Weapons

Ex. Attack with a 2% of poisoning the enemy while attacking with Sword-class weapons

Ex 2. Respond to enemy attacks with a 20% chance of returning 5% damage back at the enemy

Ex. 3. Respond to enemy attacks with a 1 percent chance of draining 800 HP from the enemy.

Well, these achievements (with achievement titles) would range from tasks such as:

Slightly Filled Pockets

- Reach 20,000 total gold

Too Much Damage

- Repair your ship 1000 times

Power Hungry

- Sink 50,000 ships

Ready For The Track Meet

- Travel 5,000 miles on foot

Thirsty

- Craft 5 of each potions from the Potions table (excludes event and Loot Drop potions)

300

- Reach an attack combo of 300 with your Sword-class weapons

A Mighty Blow

- Deal 3000 damage with a single row of combos/skills from any weapon

No Need For Ships

- Obtain all teleport totems for main islands

Bountyful

- Get a bounty of 30k in SvS

Invincible

- Take out 3 opponents in a row without dying

Rushing Your Fights

- Take out 6 enemies with 1 attack

(Do NOT make these achievements easy to accomplish. Make these achievements take weeks, months and even years to finish. You guys need more longevity in your content, like Toontown has)

Also, make sure you have achievements for every kind of activity in the game (Mini-games, sailing, taking down enemies, PvP wins, gold earned, rep earned, level 50 achieved, distance traveled, treasures found, loot rarity type found, etc) This creative list is endless, make good use of outrageous ideas for achievements.

Etc. You see how creative we can get with these achievements? Let me remind you, this is only a BASIC list of the creative requirements they can implement. Make the requirements for achievements as high as possible, so it'll last.

Also, give the new weapons unique abilities similar to the examples I listed above.

Think of how much purpose it would bring to be a mastered pirate. Something else to look forward that could last another year to complete after you hit level 50. I can tell you one thing, I would pay unlimited again if you had achievements for every aspect of the game.

Chalupa 11-29-2011 04:47 AM

I think this has potential, but I think it should start all the way from Level 1. You could set the numbers so the masters would be about halfway done with all of them by the time they master.

But, then that would defeat the purpose of giving players "more" to do after they master.

If we have it set to unlock at level 1, forget about implementing it because people will breeze through it like nothing = waste of content
