The Earning Gold Guide
Yet another one of my many guides. This is the Guide to Earning Gold.
Pick your favorite method of leveling and go with it. Each of these provide TONS of Notoriety and Gold. Notoriety 30+: Sailing Leveling Staff Leveling Pistol/Cutlass/Dagger Sailing: Make sure you have a War Galleon (or a guild member/friend has one) and have at least two crew members (or you and one other) with fully stocked Thunderbolt shot for cannons. Sail from Tortuga towards the spot in the midlde of Cutthroat Isle and Kingshead. Keep sailing until your ship, on the map, is right in between Devil's Anvil and the words that mark out Mar de Plata. There should be an EITC Warlord there. Shoot it with lightning once, then wait until it is in range of the basic shot. Then shoot away until you sink it. If you have a few dots on Treasure Sense sailing, you should bring in about 5 Royal Chests per run. It will take you about an hour of this to gain 5k in gold and 3k in reputation. Leveling Staff: Go to Kingshead and defeat the Veteran formation with Flaming Skull or Wither. Use only one skill point on each. You will get 10 gold per Veteran and 10 reputation per Veteran. Leveling Pistol/Cutlass/Dagger: Go to Isla Tormenta with a friend. Near the spot where there are two Molusks (sometimes Seabeards, sometimes one of each) there is a wide open spot with one enemy, with a hill leading to another. Defeat those enemies over and over. Notoriety 20+ Leveling Grenades Leveling Cutlass/Dagger/Doll Leveling Grenades: Go to Kingshead and stand behind the fence on the right. Use Long Volley to engage the Veteran Formation (Stink Pot ammo) and do it over and over. 15 gold per Veteran, 20 Reputation per Veteran. Leveling Cutlass/Dagger/Doll Go to Fort Charles and defeat the Grunt on top of the hanging deck with your Dagger or Cutlass. Defeat the Veterans upstairs with your Doll while walking backwards. Attune any other enemies that you pass while walking. Just don't walk off the edge! Under Notoriety 20: Sailing Leveling Cutlass/Doll/Dagger Sailing: Get a Mid-size Frigate and sail to Padres Del Fuego. Have your crew members engage the front cannons of the ship and fire at any ship they see. Reverse your ship until they are sunk. Keep looking backwards though incase you run into another ship. Leveling Cutlass/Doll/Dagger: Go to Fort Charles and defeat the Grunt on top of the hanging deck. You'll get 10+ gold each time you defeat it and get around 70 reputation (depending on your weapon's level). Thanks for viewing my guide. If you liked it and it helped you, please leave me reputation and PM me with what you liked about the guide. I like to know who I've helped and what I helped them with. Thanks! P.S. Be sure to leave your username, not pirate name, in the reputation you leave, so I know who you are ;) |
Another fine thread, PirateAhoy! Will have to add this to my important links thread! Thanks for your hard work!

I have level 18 grenade, kingshead is not giving me much gold or rep
|
sailing is the best way I've found to make money, I pull in 500-1000 every port, ho much exactly depends on whether I get stuck with some cruddy crates or not.
learning to back up in a frigate with a manned cannon has been the the most profitable discovery for me by far. |
Kings dependson your notoriety and lvl of weaponry. If it stops being profitable, head to the tormenta crew.
