The Nine Rogues - Theory
The following is pure speculation, with no real proof to back it up, thus I am looking for anyone else who experienced something similar. After having received the Nine Rogues quest, I went on my way with the game as normal- and having picked up two randomly and not knowing the location, it further places me within the questioning. I was on Devil’s Anvil, shooting some crabs for fun, when I received the Barbossa Portrait. The fact that he inhabits(or his ghost) this island struck me as odd and threw an odd theory into my head.
Are the Nine Rogues less random than I initially believed? Does each portrait have a direct correlation with a place of obtaining it, or was this simple coincident? Did anyone else who received Barbossa notice where they received it from, and was it indeed Devil’s Anvil? If anyone else also knows where they received the others, I would like to compare with each one’s notes. |
Receiving a Rogue is completely random, since you can obtain any picture from any enemy at any place. You will notice this with other treasures as you continue to unlock. I know this bc. I have got all Nine Rogues. You don't get anything special from collecting them all, you just get them.

That's interesting how that happened, but I don't think they are planted anywhere... because you'll get multiples of them. I've gotten six or seven Capt. Jack Sparrow's at least.
|
I find myself getting Captain Swann's and Jack Sparrow's at Port Royal. Jack is usually at Fort Charles.
|
ive got all of them and ive gotten them at completely random spots...and i keep getting them at random spots.
|
I got all 9 in about 30 minutes mowing down low level Navy (3-8) in Port Royal.

Here's my question- what happens when you get all nine? Nothing?
|
Nothing. You just basically get gold for the items as you get them. Notice how when you get the item it says "Value"? That amount is added to the gold you receive when you defeat the enemy you get that item from. So basically, all you get is a collection of treasures worth about 90 gold, or around there. Nothing else happens.

Okay, thank you for confirming this for me. And, Alana, nothing happens as of yet, it it just like your other treasures.
It might be the basis for a future quest though, or just a way to make yourself more entertaned by filling those little blank spots. |
Than why does Elizabeth Swan tell you after you get the 9 rogues that we would get the next clue to find her father??
|
I would guess there may be several things leading to various possible quests, etc in the future. They may also amount to nothing, other than just something to collect.
Zeppers lvl 40 - All mastered but lvl 21 cannons Groggy McJones lvl 26 - All weapons quest/tp quest finished - avoiding story quest http://pirates.teamofx.us |
I usually get them at Fort Charles, Kingshead, and Tormenta. But it's most likely to be 100% random.

I was going to post and ask "What are the Nine Rogues", etc. BUT.......this thread clears all that up.....LOL!:laughks2:
