Which guild should I join?

Well, I think that it's about time I join a guild. However, I'm not sure who to join, and can't really tell much difference between them at this time. So I'm going to describe myself, and see if anyone can point me towards a guild that might fit with my personality and style.

I've been playing for about 2 months and am Notoriety 25. I've been playing 90% plus solo, though have occasionally joined or had a crew, and have helped a few new players. I still prefer to do a lot solo, concentrating on quests, but am interested in some of the more interactive aspects of the game. I'm not really a big chatter, though I don't mind doing it. I'm usually on 5-7 days per week, mostly at night (after 9:00 EST USA), though occasionally late morning as well. I sail on a Galleon, though I'm saving up for a War Galleon (only 7000 more gold to go!). I've done more sailing than anything, so that's my highest skill by far. I'd love the opportunity to beef up my other skills. I'd love to help other people out, especially newbies. I'm a mature player, and get annoyed when ship crews just shoot at random targets, rather than concentrating on a single one. I may also be interested in advancing within a guild (if that's even possible) once I get involved.

Here are my current stats....
Cannon 5 (yeah, not been on many crews)
Sailing 23
Cutlass 12
Pistol 9
Doll 7
Dagger 6
Grenade 3

So any suggestions? Any existing guilds that seem to fit my style?

There are a lot of guilds to choose from in the game, huge ones, small ones, medium sized ones, etc. Look at the guilds that have sub-forums here on POF, read the comments made and try to get a feel for their style of game play. If you see one that looks like a good fit for you, send an officer a PM and set up a meet time to see the guild in action or just get a "face to face" impression of them.

Our's is a guild that likes to think of itself as a mature guild, good mix of lower levels, mid-range levels and high levels. We are not huge so you don't feel overwhelmed with guild chat, but a medium sized guild with players on most of the day. Sometimes lots of us on sometimes not. We have players that play in the same time frame you mentioned in your post.

Check out our sub-forum, ask questions and check the other guilds with sub-forums and threads here. Most important thing is to find a guild that fits you.

Bad to the Bonez is a relatively mature guild. Mostly adults, with a few kids. We have a core group of people that play tons. There are times we're working alone, whether it be quests, or just grinding. And there are times a lot of us will get together to plunder :) Can get your cannon rep up ;)

We encourage and woot each other with our little and big accomplishments, and have a friendly atmosphere.

Regarding the chat, like for me, there are times they can't shut me up, and other times I'm just doing my own thing and not really paying attention to the chat :p Ssshhhh, don't let them know... lol

Whichever guild you choose, if it ends up not being the right fit, you can choose to leave it and join another.

Good luck!

EDIT - lol i guess Capt was posting as I was writing, didn't see his post till after I was done ;)

Tortugan Terror is a small, family friendly guild with lots of helpful pirates, some near your level. I read what you said, and I think you would fit Tortugan Terror great. I have studied a lot of other guilds so I know what else is out there. Since you are Lv 20+, you don't need to pass the test - just say yes and you are in! I will send you a guild code if you choose to join. Thanks, and I'll see you in the game!

I'm going to be straight, even though I have a guild, I would refer you to the Bad to the Bonez guild. Believe me, you'd fit in perfectly with them.
