I keep getting an error that says "Your internet connection to the servers has been unexpectedly lost."

Sometimes this happens as I move to a difference location, but lately I get it when I log in, and I can't even play the game.

I called POTCO tech support, and they told me that it was my internet connection, even though this is the only game that gives me this error.

I called out my tech guy (at $65/hour) who told me my internet connection is fine, that it must be the game servers.

Does anyone out the have any advise?

Who is your ISP? What is your data plan (speed)? Have you run any speed tests? Any other programs running that might be pulling bandwidth? What Antivirus do you have?

THanks. I have Verizon DSL. I don't know how to run a speed test. All other programs are off. I'm running on a Mac with no anti-virus.

What version of Mac OS? What are your hardware specs? What speed DSL?

Think I might know the problem... I didn't have an Anti-Virus program and I had the same problem. It might be your firewall meaning that it probably found pirates online as a threat though it's really not. Download AVG Anti-Virus and turn ON your firewall.. Hope I helped.

Welcome to the long list of people that have those same issues and gotten those same answers. I have Mac and these machines don't deal with firewalls and anti-virus. A perk for Macs. I know for a fact that it's not going to be on your end. Best thing you can do is make your Mac a wired Mac. Just plug the internet directly to your computer and that might help. I use an older Mac and have the newest OS, the only way to get a steady connection was to make it wired. That works like a charm, also you might want to try sweet talking to it or yelling at it.

I've run AVG for years and also Tested Avast, Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Avira..... Etc. Anti virus alone will not protect you from everything. In fact no Virus protection is fool proof. You should have Spybot, Malwarebytes, and/or Superantispyware installed and run weekly scans. All of our download and surfing habits differ so it's not comparing apples to apples.

Bottom line: If something really wants to get in, it doesn't matter what firewall or Anti virus you have. It's going to get in. Your best bet is to avoid the web sites that infect your PC. Free stuff, advertisements and sponsored applications are ones specifically to avoid. Also schedule weekly Virus scans and be sure the definitions are updating.
