The Cure for Lag
 

Do you lag in PotCO? Think you could be a great and high level pirate without the lag? Here's the cure.

If you have 512 MB of RAM (Go to my computer, right click on it, go to Properties, and see the bottom right corner of the window. It should say how much RAM you have.) or less, go into the game, go to the Settings tab, and toggle through the various options until you find Memory Conversion. Switch it to Default - it should currently be on Aggressive.

If you still lag, then you need to see a computer expert. But for me, this trick worked.

No need for a computer expert, the lag is because of all the players in the game and a tiny bit of RAM like you said.
I suggest turning your graphics on Low and Reflections on Sky Only, everything else on Low too.

yea if u have lag play around with the options if u mess it up just keep hitting default

check out my discussion about how to fix lags on potc and how to fix the svchost file on window xp computer! This fixes the memory leak and the svchost always being at 99% on the computer sent ive done this the game hasnt lag at all and svchost file has always stay at 0% which is a huge improvement!

Hey, anyone know how to fix the "you got disconnect from the servers" lag? I don't know if that qualifies as a lag or a bug. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Because it REALLY annoys me.

Is Pirates coming out with a patch soon?
