I'd like your opinion on what potions yield the most rep AND at the same time are relatively easy to make.

You see, I hate potions, I know that some of you consider it a "mini-game", but as long as it shows on my player's card, I want it to be fully mastered, I have a couple pirates fully mastered from the old level 40 including all weapons, then at lv 50 with all weapons, then added fishing and potions, got fishing done and I'm up to lv 16 on potions but I dont like spending so much time playing a bloody puzzle!!!

So anyway, I think that Phantom Grog and Grwoing Grog are the ones yielding the most rep for ease of making. Do you agree? If not which ones then?

Oh! Good thing SvS and PvP isnt showing on the player's card!!! I'd be stressing over that too!
;)

I also hate potions. I'm at level 17 and I'm dying to master them. According to my friends (who have mastered potions), when you get to level 17 Clap O'Thunder is the best one to make, because it's easy and gives a lot of rep. Hope that helps. :)

Hmm, I have to disagree Dark, Clap O' Thunder requires 2 Alligator, Crab and Scorpian Essences. I find that Growin Grog is a very easy potion to make and gives 95 rep.
Also, how can you hate potions! Potions to me are by far the most fun thing to do. :D They were the first thing I mastered on Jack :p

Potions are not bad if that's what you feel like playing, a puzzle, but it's sooooo different from a Pirate's game dynamics, I mean you go fight enemies, ship battles at seas, run around like crazy meeting quest objectives fighting and defeating yet more enemies, running errands, etc... all within imho a normal pirate like operations, then I come into potions and sit there doing a puzzle... so not the same dynamics of the game.

Pirate Guy 08-06-2011 07:14 PM

Still, I do enjoy the other stuff but potions sometimes challenge you to figure them out and that's fun. The potion I cannot seem to make is Deadeye III, I always get stuck on it. Also, Clap O' Thunder gives less rep then Growin Grog.

Dark_Pixie 08-06-2011 07:18 PM

Oh, level 16! Well, that's good news.

It does give less rep, but I find that the rep you get for completing the potion is only put onto your notoriety, which doesn't make it worthwhile. At least, this is the case for me.

Pirate Guy 08-06-2011 07:25 PM

Well, if you have 5/5 potions, I think that's why, not sure though. Also I like to make Swift Foot III's because they fast and when you get the max, you use them and make more.

Dark_Pixie 08-06-2011 07:34 PM

Usually I don't have 5/5 potions, so I guess that mystery remains unsolved.

Captain Sharktooth 08-06-2011 07:58 PM

If you really focus with the potions, they can be easy. I managed to master them on my little pirate in just a short 3 days. A lot of the potions like Hardy Matey and Lively Bucko Brew are easy and give a lot of rep. Just keep making the easy potions and you'll master them quickly (but make sure to complete the other potions too :P).

Captain Seafarer CO. 08-06-2011 08:05 PM

Yep! tested it and Clap O' thunder gives a decent amount of reps and isnt too tedious, good compromise.

Also having 5/5 still gives you reps and credits your potion making so no worries if you have the max.

Yeah. I think I'm just lazy to do it.. But, gonna work on it.

akamystic 08-08-2011 01:29 AM

Just hit level 9.......need to spend some more time on potions. Sometimes you think you've got it.....and the top just gets filled....and....and......well, you start over. LOL

Not my favorite thing to do in the game, but I do like puzzles and this sort of reminds me of Tetris and other match shape games that are out there.

:skull-crossbones3:

Captain Jorden 08-08-2011 07:02 AM

I work on it from time to time. I like potions but i don't like them.

Get the Idea?

Fun for using them for glitches etc...

Then I just don't master them. I also look at the players card at potions. I think it is very important for famous glitches.

I don't like waisting.

But get what I mean?
