Scary Mary personal belongings

I've been asked by Scary Mary on Isla Perdida to dig up her personal belongings by the waterfall and I cannot find it anywhere. The one and only dig spot that I can find by some trees tells me "Nothing interesting here".

Help!

The one by the waterfall is up on the hill next to the waterfall :)

I spent half an hour up there, any more details?? Sorry, I'm soooo frustrated with this task! Usually I can find the treasures within 10 minutes or less!
