Guild names constantly taken?

I have requested at least 10 different guild names and all of them said that they are already in use. I even tried different spellings and even searching up my desired guild name in the directory, on the POTCO website. When I searched it up, it said "no results." That has to mean that it is NOT taken, but apparently it is. I even typed in some random words that I made up as the guild name, just to test if it would be accepted or not, but I'm still getting the same message that it's already in use. Any solutions? Thanks in advane!

The directory isn't always correct. Some of it is out of date. Just think of the most uncommon set of words that make sense, and try that out. If that doesn't work, you could try thinking of a whole new word. I bet that wouldn't be taken!

some guilds have no GM... when this happens the name is replaced by numbers and you cannot search the name. The only way to see a GM-less guild on the directory is if you know of someone who is in it(search that persons pirate name) or they are somewhere on the leaderboards.

The directory has not been updated in quite awhile so therefore new pirates, guilds, change in guilds, etc are not showing as they should. And since, it appears that the leaderboards & directory are connected-this also affects the LB's.
Good luck with finding a guild name that you want, mate.

Actually, the have the directory and leaderboards every day.
What it is, is if in '08, if some guy who just bought UA for the first time, named his guild
"Destructors Of Death" But then in '09, he hasnt got any members, so he clicks "Leave Guild".
Now, in '11, if you try to name a guild "Destructors Of Death", you can't because it is still in use. There is no "delete guil" option for GM's, only leave guild. When he left the guild, the guild was still there, it just isnt avalible for any members, t wont come up if you search it, but it's still there...

The directory is DEFINITELY not up to date with the guilds... it is with everything else though. Jason is still in his old guild on the leader boards and directory, but he is supposed to be in the Shadow Sorcerors. Hmm... don't know why I have never had this problem... try making something completely original that you don't think many people would have thought of. ;)
