Is scorch worth it?
 

I must admit, I am a little confused about the scorch skill. For being reasonably far into the voodoo doll set, it doesn't seem to do a lot of damage. Does anyone know how its damage is applied? Say, 21-41 damage every X seconds or does it really only do that much total. It also costs a lot more voodoo than swarm and poke, which seem to be more effective. Can anyone help me out here?

The only reason I (and problably many others) took it was because it gives a lot of rep points, which makes it easier to keep leveling up your voodoo.

I would take it just for that reason.

It does not do a lot of damage at all, in total even after the "burning" of your enemy ends. Max damage maybe 75 or so, depending on what level your doll is.

If you take it, don't put more than a point on it. It's not worth it to have more than one skill point used on it.

I just took it because I like setting people on fire, but hey, it gives more rep so I'll take it XD

While you're giving torture to enemies with poke, the burn will do damage over time. I think it helps for those enemies that has a strong defense to your attacks, like pvp.

I, too, was skeptical about Scorch, Atticus. Though it's been unlocked for weeks (my Doll is LVL19), I only just put a skill point on it today -- in part because I was tired of seeing that blank icon space on my screen. :126:

Well, now I am glad I did -- and feel that the little description of the skill in the game doesn't do it justice. Yes, the initial damage is typically in the 30s, but the burn damage over time takes away an additional 75 points or so. Even with only one skill point, Scorch delivers over 100 in damage.

Yes, it uses more Voodoo and takes longer to recharge than Poke or Swarm, but it's certainly worth a point or two, imo.

Like people said, it does damage over time and increases your rep. I personally like Life Drain the best. It costs 100 voodoo but if you max it out, you can inflict anywhere from 500-1000 damage on yellow enemies and get about 700 Heath back.

yea scorch is like the venom shot or venom dagger it takes the intial life the over a set period of time it will take away more health , and its just fun to burn people in the game

I would think it would work great against stumps

I have one dot in it, I won't put any more, I'm glad I have the dot though because its a great button to hit when the rest are recharging lol

I like the down damage between Pokes.
