starting over!?

Hey all,
I'm new to this site and a POTCO addict. I have a question. Do you have to start over ever time you re-up your membership to the game? I met a player last night who had basic access and then bought a game pass at Target. She had gotten to lvl 10 on basic and then when she put in the code from the pass it made her start all over. If you have to start over everytime, what is the point? I love my pirate and I am looking forward to the cool stuff we are going to be able to do in February for our pirates, I don't want to start over!!!

Thanks all:mickeypiratezd4:

You don't have to start over after you pay for unlimited access, or upgrade your currect account. Everything in the game and about your pirate stays the same (gold, treasures, friends, notoriety, weapons... etc.)

If you use a credit card online, you essentially upgrade your existing account. Maybe it has something to do with using a game card?

They should still be able to call disney and they'll transfer the old pirate to the new account. Number should be somewhere on the offical pirates site.

I myself used the game card and it was fine. My pirate didn't restart as far as I know it. I kept all my account info.

someone in my guild just used a game card, everything remained the same, name notoriety, etc. So no, you don't have to start over.

Alright, good luck! I'm sure your friend had a glitch, maybe he can call Disney as someone else suggested before.
