POTC Music?
 

Well, I've recently been looking at some POTC music, and I realized something. Pirates Online has almost NO actual POTC music. Almost all of the music used in this game is not actual music from the movies, except for the song on the Pick A Pirates creen, which I think is an arrangement of He's A Pirate. I'm not saying that I don't like the music we have in game... but I love the music that is in the movies, as many others do, and adding it in may give a bit more of an authentic feel. For example, Mermaids would be a good song to play for an island as desolate as Raven's Cove(or even better if they added White Cap Bay), with the faster part of the song (when the mermaids attack) being the battle music. Blackbeard could play when you're on board the Queen Anne's Revenge. At Wit's End would make nice sailing music when someone is not at the wheel (similar to how the old sailing music was) and when you start sailing. Why not have Davy Jones's theme be the song used in Tormenta? And I'd love it if they threw in some of the songs from On Stranger Tides with Rodrigo y Gabriela and his flamenco playing, as that was a nice touch.

I know I know, its one of those little things, but being a very music appreciative person and someone who really likes Hans Zimmers's compositions in POTC, I'd really love to see them in POTCO to give it a more authentic feel... and because the music is really good.

Any ideas or comments?

P.S. Anyone know the name of the song that was played when Jack ditches Angelica and starts rowing the boat away at the very end?. I really liked that song but I didn't know the name... and now I forgot how it goes... >.>

I think that would be a lot better of an idea than what they play now! The music that's within the game gets a bit annoying after awhile. Especially if you're in the King's Arm and all the people play is "Scatter the Gulls" over and over. -_- But most of the time, I play all the Pirates CDs while playing so I don't have to listen to the game's music (: haha.

And I can't remember what song was playing then. ): Gives me a reason to see it again!

I believe that it was Up is Down, but a different version of Up is Down and I agree we need POTC music in the game we do have He's a pirate and the other music you mentioned but that's about it. Come on Disney, make the game like the movies please. :) :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

I agree, too... the game's only real connection to the movies is the setting and a few of the quests/characters/bosses. Other than that,... there isn't much that keeps it authentic,... and that would actually make the game a little better to play if it had good music. If you think about video games like Medal of Honor: Frontline, they have good music... but POTCO needs to make the game sound better. They could definitely use the real music to their advantage.

I believe the music in-game is actually music from the movies, though it's probably a slightly different arrangement or something. Though it's been so long since I listened to the in-game music, they may have changed it.

I usually mute the sound and play the soundtracks while pirating!

That would be a great idea, I like the music that plays now since it makes me feel a little nostalgic (played Pirates Online back in 09 and it was the first online game I ever tried) but some actual soundtracks to the game would be a big plus for game play.

The music adds a nice touch to game play.....more dramatic......

I do agree Davy, but here's what I found a long time ago. That is some of the Pirates of the Caribbean games don't have the movie music. Like the game, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ( except the Kraken song in the Kraken battle ) and POTCO. But the following songs I'd like added into POTCO is Two Hornpipes on Tortuga ( and that is the Tortuga song in the movie ), I do agree Davy that Davy Jones' song should be added into Tormenta. I also agree with you in the At Wit's End part. And Blackbeard's song when battling on the Queen Anne's Revenge.

Agreed, the music from in the movie has a much more uplifting feel to it. I would much enjoy that over what is played now.

They definitely should put Davy Jones theme on Tormenta. I'd probably hang out there just to hear the music.

I never noticed that the game music isn't like in the movies. But I would love to see some songs from the movie in the game.
And the song is called Angry and Dead again Davy.... Or I think so :)

It would make Tormenta a lot more creepy... and a lot more awesome. :)

It would just be really funny fighting an enemy and the slow part starts.... :')
