Cannon skills: Shoot and Rapid Reload
 

Hi,

from the player's guide:

• Shoot: Combat Basic Cannoneering Skill –– upgrade to increase Cannon firing rate

• Rapid Reload: Passive Increases Cannon reloading speed

what is exactly the difference between these skills?

because they both seem to reduce the time between sets of shots are available (round shot 3, chain shot 2, Thunderbolt 1, etc)

or 'Rapid Reload' helps when switching between ammo types and 'Shoot' when using the same ammo type?

You know when you shoot with your cannon, before you can shoot an extra cannonball (If you still have some before reloading), you will have a slight pause before you can shoot another one. If you upgrade shoot, you will have to wait less. It's a very short pause, but if you want to get rid of the pause, max shoot. Rapid reload reloads your cannons faster.

I guess if you have both you will reload your cannon even faster. I don't think there is any diffrence between them other than you get basic cannoniering skills when you start and you have to unlock rapid reload skill. :mickeypiratezd4:

That's true since shooting another cannonball resets the reload time, but if you can shoot all those 3 cannonballs at once, it will shoot more cannonballs with less time.

Not that I'm doubting you but... are you sure? I'll take your word on it since I really had no idea between the different either though.

I have seen people fire 2 cannonballs at a time. I guess that they have upgraded it. (I never do) :mickeypiratezd4:

Rapid Reload and Shoot are 2 skills that every cannoner should consider upping.

Basic Shoot increases the how fast you can fire each cannonball, increasing this means you can get all 3 balls out of your cannon close enough together to all land in the same place, inturn causing more damage through the bonus.
Rapid Reload cuts down the time between rounds while the cannonballs are loaded, making switching types easier.

Example:
Pirate A, with only 1 on each skill can fire 3 cannonballs in just over 2 seconds, with delay between, and has to wait for the reload, about 5-10 seconds before going again.
Pirate B, with 4 on shoot and 4 on reload can fire all 3 in aobut 1 second, and is already sending a second set of 3 before pirate A is reloaded and ready for their second round.

so:

• 'Shoot' is only good for ammo type with multiple cannonballs (round shot 3, chain shot 2, etc) and does nothing for ammo type like thunderbolt
• 'Rapid Reload' is actually a more all-rounder for any ammo type

I have 3 on shoot and it really makes a difference. None on rapid reload.

I have several in shoot and rapid reload. Lets just say I can put some cannon balls down range quick fast and in a hurry.
