You will find the cards on enemies when you defeat them. (Just like you find teeth, jewels, rings, etc)
There are also quests available from Black Mack in Tortuga, that reward you with cheat cards.
[Correction! - Black mack can be found in the Rowdy Rooster tavern in Port Royal]

I don't know if certain enemies have cards.
As you play the game, you "win" things with some "kills",
treasures and items, trinkets and playing cards.

The playing cards don't come that often and some times you don't even notice what you have found, because you are focused on a mission or another battle.

You can't even look at the cards you have!
Only way to see your cards, is sit down at the Poker table and enter the "switch card" procedures.

If someone was to log every treasure, as it was found, right from the beginning of the game, then you might find a place to get cards, but I don't know of anyone who has done that yet!

I know that I have gotten cards from "undead" in all areas of the game. I am not sure that I have ever found a card on a Soldier or EITC character (but I could be wrong).

I just find them at random (usually all the cards are 2's and 3's but I find most of them from the undead and creatures. :mickeypiratezd4:

Cards are 1 in a 150 (estimate), meaning they are pretty rare. So in about every 150 enemies you defeat you may get one card. This is just an estimate that I believe is around accurate.

Also, another thing. As you become higher in Notoriety you will get higher playing cards. For example, I just got my first Ace yesterday at Notoriety level 37, and got another one today at Notoriety level 38. At the beggining of the game, you usually recieve 2's and 3's.

Good luck finding 'em. :piratedanceeu8:

Just got an Ace and a King (in the last few minutes)
and two other cards today (a 6 of something and a 2)

(1 in 150 seems a little low to me)

I have been off and on all day though (at least 5 hours total game play).

Up to now, I have received a number of face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings)
and this is about my third Ace.

I am level 29 (so if you didn't get an Ace until level 37 then there is definately more chance than predictability).

I went looking for this Black Mack guy since I didn't know about this task.

He's actually in the Rowdy Rooster bar in Port Royal, if anyones looking for him.

Just felt the need to make that small correction :). Thanks for letting me know bout this guy. :wheel:

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the info...i only got a 3 so far at level 11 so it makes sence now...150 enemy defeats sounds low in my case...maybe i'm just not targeting the right enemies hehehehe
If you come across some more helpful card hints please let me know...you all rock !

I have quite a few cards and tried swapping them into my hands numerous times, only to be told that the swap failed.

The one time a swap succeeded, I got caught cheating, lost all my winnings, was fined 100 gold and thrown into jail!

Haven't tried swapping since. Just not worth it, imo. :pirate5:

I wish there were some way to look at what cards you have without being in a hand of poker. Any cheater worth his salt would know what they were bringing to the table before they sat down.

As far as cheating, there was a pretty good thread about it in the Card Games sub-forum. I think it's called, "Is there a way . . ?". I found a lot of helpful info about how/when to swap cards and not get caught.
