Level Balancing Revisit

Hi,
Since the last update when they made it where any enemy could hit anyone the game has become a chore killing every sand crab that happens to walk accross you for 0 rep. So im starting a petition of types to try to get disneys attention to revisit the balancing and if not set it back to the way it was at least comprimise to a 10 lvl grace, so if you where lvl 25 anything 15 or up could hit you and you could hit anything 35 or below. After aquiring a adequate amount of signitures I will send a letter to disneys developing team, not the automated system we send bug reports to but the email to an actual team leader. If you would like to join or add your opinion feel free, leave your name, length of playing and if this isnt revisited do you see yourself continuing to pay for the game even if you have to fight every lvl 1 in the game to progress. Thanks

Shhlatkinz has played for two months and does not plan to continue paying :)

Good luck with this, hope it works out well :)

Add Mad Ange to that list. Been playing since Phase 2 Beta, and not enthusiastic about renewing if they don't put this back the way it was!

Vangelis 12-28-2007 01:15 PM

I will not be continuing to play unless they change back those ridiculous updates.

I agree. I haven't been on in several days because of this change, and I used to play a minimum of 4 -6 hours everyday. Combined with the whole Boss Battle problem and lack of new quests, I don't plan to continue.

A few weeks after the game launched i was thinking to upgrade my account
in Potco to annual membership but now i don't think i will continue.
I played Potco since Beta phase 1 and had great expectations
for this game but it seems that everything just getting worse.
So many of my friends are already bored because of no boss battle and
the only thing to do is leveling up weapons which is not fun anymore.
Is there any creative person among the devs there?
Why did they make this game soo boring to us even before we maxed anything?
One of my friend said this game is Beta phase 3 but now we have to pay for it.

I don't like this either. If you get my account messed up, you will be hearing from me!

I don't pay anyway, so its not fair for me to criticize your feelings on this topic...

so I will just add my thoughts on the matter:

1. I have absolutely no problem avoiding any "creature" that I do not want to fight.
2. Every now and then I am attacked by other "lesser" creatures in battle and it doesn't annoy me.
3. I think the fact that every "creature" regardless of its level can attack and inflict even the smallest damage, is more "realistic".
4. Realism also dictates that as you grow stronger and more powerful, you become a bigger target and attract more attention and attacks.
5. The game has become more "challenging" but not any more difficult.
6. I am happy that the game has evolved in this manner to keep me challenged and not stagnated (now that I have completed the original Quest).

7. I do however, not like the extremely low or non-existent rep point reward from the lower level "creatures".
If something can attack me and inflict damage, I should be properly rewarded for defeating it. (1 point or 0 point is not a reward!)

AND

yes! I agree that the game was launched prematurely, with too many problems and unfinished areas, the Boss Battle delay is a ridiculous and unacceptable problem and there should have been further adventures or quests by now (for those who have been waiting patiently for more)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disney(?) you have dropped the ball, big time!!, on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree I think the change just annoys (and meant to prevent) the macropeople who expect not to get damaged.

But yes, releasing the game with the main quest unfinished wasn't too smart. I guess they dramatically overestimated how long it would take people to get to the end. I played rather casually and it took me a little over a month.

This is my major gripe with it. I mean, it really sucks being ganged up on by a bunch of low levels and getting my health severely depleted (some of those level 3 and 4s do some pretty big dmg, and a group of them can be hazardous!) when I'm going after something bigger, but the fact that I get _NOTHING_ for defeating them?!?! That just irks me something fierce.

Count me in, too!

I agree with the rest of you. I think Disney severely underestimated the length of time we would need to get to the Boss Battle. This game is so unfinished, it is pathetic to call it a MMOG. I paid for an annual subscription, but if things don't pick up in the next 2-3 weeks, I will be asking for a refund on the prorated balance of my subscription. The latest update sorta clinched my thinking on the whole thing. It stinks bigtime! I used to go to Kingshead for some fun just to give those soldiers something to worry about but now I don't even go there. They drain my health fairly quickly. In fact, there is really nothing much to do on here at all anymore. Such a huge disappointment!!! I feel we are paying for Beta 3, too.

I agree that Disney is probably trying to slow down how long it takes for players to reach the end of the quests. But I also wonder if they're trying to "encourage" players to team up more often for land battles? Before the change, players could go solo for nearly all of their land-based quests, and that's pretty unusual for MMOs. In other games, you have to team up A LOT to complete your quests, but with PotCO, you can play solo 95% of the time and still advance. I have a hunch that Disney is trying to change people's playing styles to work together more often.
