Kingshead a little tougher today
 

After getting sent to jail for the fifth time today, I think it's more than just coincidence. As soon as my pirate steps through the door at Kingshead, there's a delay and then WHAM, Officer lvl26 pounding away. Down 200-300 health before I can even get moving.

I've been to Kingshead a few times before, and this is the first time I've seen the AI act this aggressively, with the same enemy on each visit. I'd hoped to chew up some of my grenade quest today but I've gotten nowhere.

And whoever built that room full of barrels and crates in Kingshead and put no quest items in any of the containers needs to have his or her Internet taken away for a month. What was the point of that anyway? :xangry:

I've noticed that, too, the last couple of times I've been to Kingshead. Didn't the guards at the door used to be all level 20 and under?

And that room... oh man... I discoverd that room after I had finished the quest on my first character, so I was really anticipating all the easy crate and barrel searching to be had in there on my second character. Imagine my disappointment! :sign0080: LOL

I visited Kingshead and did not have any problem entering and getting hit. it seems to work for me to press the R key as soon as i see something after the load screen. otherwise, i am not sure why you are getting Blamed immediately.

Nothing new. There's an officer spawn who will march down the path to the door. Sometimes it'll be a lvl 26 officer.

Its best to always be prepared when entering Kingshead.

Prepared isn't a problem. :xrolleyes: Getting smacked for a couple hundred health instantly is the problem. Last night Kingshead was back to being the way I've seen it before. A little glitch, perhaps?

I gotta agree with Hile that this was nothing new.

I first went to Kingshead several weeks ago (way before the recent updates) to begin the grenade quest. I stepped through the door and got creamed by a LVL23 Officer, a LVL10 Sergeant, and at least one other Navy (whose rank I didn't catch). I didn't even have time to draw my cutlass before I was hitting the ground. It was probably the most surprising & ferocious encounter I had had up to that time, and it served to keep me well away from Kingshead for weeks after that.

If previously you happened upon lower level Officers or Veterans on your forays -- or possibly entered when they were further from the door -- then consider yourself lucky. Or maybe I should just consider myself extremely unlucky?

Ive went through there and didn't get hit once and i just went and explored then i was leaving and one glitched up guard attacked me "Glitched Up" meaning sadly MEAN!

You're best bet is to run the instant you land in there and get them to disengage. Don't even try to fight until you're high enough. However, if you're not even high enough to take a couple shots then you probably shouldn't be there.

What levels SHOULD be at Kingshead? I'm level 17 and I dont know if I should be going in there yet...

At your level, I'd only go there if you have to do the quest there to search crates and barrels. I'd bring a friend to help fight. Once you get in the 20s then you can start thinking about leveling there.
