Repeatable Quests
 

Are any of you that are higher level and waiting for the boss battle still able to do the fortune quests over and over? Like the Port Royal Crime Wave, etc). I've seen posts here by people saying they have done them multiple times, but I can't repeat most of them.

Sam Seabones offers me the Hunt Skeletons quest, Bartholomew will offer me 2 of the 3 sailing errands (which both complete as soon as I sink any ship of any kind), and Josie McReady will offer me Mercenary jobs, but that's it.

Is this because of something they "fixed"? Is anyone else still able to get some of these quests multiple times?

I have been in the same position for a bit now. I could be wrong, but I first noticed this with the release that removed the Curse of Yellow Dan. I thought they had tweaked many quests at that time, and figured it had to do with the notoriety level, and the quests that have dropped all had goals well below the notoriety I was. Then again, could be a bug....

There's also the barman on Tortuga, Johnny McVane, as well as Darby Drydock. In the Royal Anchor Bar, there's Shane McGreeny, who gives card quests & some gold, although they're a bit long - no isntant gratification. I know Lucinda & Fabiola no longer offer me quests, been that way for a while.

BTW, you can refresh Bartholemew's quests by logging out once you complete them. EDIT: you can no longer switch servers to refresh his quests :(

I went through doing those quests over and over again. Especially the Josie McReedy quests. But I had enough gold and it seemed like I wasn't really getting anything. Soooooo, I went on my own and leveled weapons. I've now started a new pirate, and working on questing with lil Rose :p

I did notice some of the quests dropping off the list, but I was always able for find something. With Josie, if she gives you something you're not up to doing, just back out of the menu a few steps and request again. Usually she'll offer something else. Sometimes I did that a few times before I found something I wanted to go after.

At Tortuga's King's Arm (or whatever it was called), the bartender gave me a quest to fight 12 Douses. What are Douses? I've been fighting other enemies to see if it is an enemy with a name changed, but none of them raised my quota.

Douses are in the cave in Isla Tormenta.

There aren't Douses on any island that I've been to. I haven't done this quest, but from what I hear, Urchinfists on Tormenta works for this quest. They are between lvls 36-40, and are grenade guys. I get them using my pistol, although I tend to go yellow when fighting the lvl 40's. :p

When you defeat a Urchinfist at Tormenta cave it counts it as a Douse.

When I was collecting money for my War Frigate, I did these quests constantly. There are many on Port Royal and a merc quest in Tortuga. Batholomews is the best because you don't even have to sink the ships he's asking for and you can do it over and over again without having to log out.

Now that I have it, I've stopped.

So the repeatable quests never stop then?

the best quests are josie mcreedy and johnny mcvane they give for me 190 gold each quest

well sometimes they ask to kill brinescums!!!

u could just drop the quest and then ask for the quest again they cahange ut

You can decline the quest, back out and try again - but once you reach a certain point on those quests, anything they give is usually fairly high level. Depends if you'd rather do brinescum or French/Spanish skels or whatever else is comparable.
