i can see that the site and game aren't very popular. what do u guys think POTCO and POF should do to get more users?

Are you kidding me? Thousands already play POTCO, and it's only been out for a couple of months!

The forum is actually getting more popular since the game started. It was dead during beta, but now it's getting there.

oh sorry i didnt no POTCO was that popular on open. my main point was POF. nobody is on.

If they don't fix that Black Pearl quest soon, they're gonna start losing players big time. I've been waiting about a month now. YAR! :xundecided:

Me, too. I made it to the boss battle on the exact day it went down, and have been waiting ever since. And I'm concerned that even after they fix it, I'll be waiting again because there aren't any story quests after that.

I was very excitied for this game to finally come out, and paid for 2 accounts so I could play with my kids, but this is not what I expected. Lots of games have bugs at the beginning, but this is more like a beta test you have to pay for.

I'm going to give it a while longer, but come January, if there aren't some major improvements, I give up on this game, which breaks my heart.

They need to make it like more big budget MMO's. This game could have a HUGE budget to make it great; Disney just won't, for some reason.

Take WoW, for example. I don't like the game, but it is the most polished and advanced online game out right now, no question. Skills and spells have descriptions that actually tell you what the skill will do. They have a respec system that you can reset skill points with if you want to try something new. It costs money, so it isn't abused.

It has progression. In my entire time playing this game, it has felt the same. The sailing doesn't really change, the fighting certainly doesn't, and it seems like you're stuck in a trial.

It has QUESTS. Quests that are fun and rewarding and don't take half an hour because the game drags them out. Some guy says to kill 7 of something, you kill them, you go back, you get a reward. None of this "Oh yeah, kill 7 of these, and 7 of these, and 7 of these" each time you go back to him.

The game isn't polished. Animations suck, chat sucks, quests suck, music sucks, locations suck, character models are only half decent, clothes suck, no variety in faces, small variety of uncustomizable ships, linear story that has no progression at all. I forget I'm even trying to gather a crew for the Black Pearl when I'm out questing.

Overall, I think I hate this game. I still play it, because I think it will get better, and it isn't unbearable. But, in comparison to other MMO's (SWG, WoW, etc), it's absolutely a terrible excuse of a game.

If they worked on polishing it, it would be a hit. Until then, it's a flop.

POF was really dead during beta this is ok for how long POTCO has been opened. Give it 4 or 5 more months you'll probably see more ppl on. There's a few pirate forums out there besides this one lol.

When WoW first came out, it sucked too. Now it's the biggest online game in the world.


I feel POTCO will get a whole lot better in time. They just need to add some things, and polish also.

Yep i agree with the game getting better with time but with each patch there should be something to show for not the same old stuff. the last 3 or maybe for updates have addressed optimizing the game but i seriously haven't noticed... i mean this game along with ideas from the movies and stuff could be endless but will it be? i think one thing on my mind would be awesome would be adding davy jones locker, using the ship timer when the kraken is suppose to show i think if you don't beat him you and whome ever else is on your ship should be sent to the locker and there i'm sure disney could have a whole other world with quests and skills used to escape. like a skill for your ship to be able to rock would be cool.. see what i mean? just ideas like that could expand this game so much.

yea make it T and add blood and more violence and take away the cartoon feel and let u be a real pirate and this thing will rock:xgrin:

Adding blood and more violence wouldn't be Disney's thing.

I do find it funny we can steal, cheat, bribe, and kill but never ever ever should a pirate swear! :O

That just shows how much Disney cares about us.

The last thing the game needs is violence. I think the game just needs some more adulterated content. I understand censorship, but come on, I've heard nine year olds out-cuss an old man. Saying "hell" isn't going to throw moms into a fit.
