PNC Guild Quest - Chapter IV Official Thread

Three great stories have been told throughout the course of the Caribbean's history - stories which have not only shaped the guild that we dwell within, but stories which have changed the perception of the game for thousands of pirates beyond us. The pioneering spirit that brought us the first guild quest, where a son looked desperately to help find his father, has since led to the creation of guild quests both inside, and outside of our guild. The second installment, which brought us the story of a man trying to find his way in the world, strengthened the fever of something so powerful and innovative that any pirate would want to embark on such an adventure. And the third, was the story of a triangle of greed and struggle over a symbol of true power, led to the explosion of one of the most creative forms of fun and expression in this realm we explore.

And today, we have approached the gates of the fourth installment. Behind it, I have devised what I can honestly say is a story which surpasses all others before it. And now, as we await for these gates to be opened, we are left with many questions; What will this new chapter revolve around? How will this drama play out before us? How will this affect the Caribbean? All these questions, and more, shall be answered soon enough.... and so, my partners, I present to you all....

The Partners N Crime Guild Quest ~ Chapter IV
Wrath of The Headstone

This chapter takes place where Disney left us hanging - the beginnings of a hunt for an item so elusive and ancient that no one is sure what is means, or what it can do. Pirates who were able to finish the Black Pearl Quest before the month of December in 2007 were introduced to a new story quest, simply named "Chapter IV" (ironic how all this worked out, isn't it?) The quest itself was only one task long, with no ending, and barely even a beginning. And ever since I first heard word of this "Headstone," I always wondered, "what would this quest have been like?" Well, I have finally decided to put the Headstone to the infamous testings of Delmaria Darkskull.

As before, this quest will work like, well, a quest. Pirates in our guild, as a guild, will work to complete a series of tasks that follow along a given story line. These tasks cover all areas of the Caribbean - PvP, Privateering, defeating enemies, sinking ships, invasions, fleets, and other things, such as potion making or cannon defense. Some tasks may ask you to explore the Caribbean, looking for the nooks and crannies of the many islands around us, or deceiving and outwitting daring and cunning foes. Either way, there is something in this quest that will fit the skills of all pirates.

Like last time, only pirates in the guild may participate (although they are now allowed to use pirates outside the guild.) And, of course, be sure once we start the Guild Quest, that you are already prepared - we aren't stopping and waiting so you can get ammunition or tonics!

The crusade that never happened begins sometime very soon..... keep on your toes, and keep your lucky charms on hand, pirates. Yer gonna need it!

Prologue ~ Tortuga Nights

The rain falls heavy down on to the port city of Tortuga. Rains drops patter off of the roof tops as they dampen the soft dirt ground, now ridden with puddles and mud. The lights of the port buzz on the balconies, in the door openings, and from the windows of the city, where the regular life goes on inside - men and women dancing, flirting, drinking and gambling all across the bars of Tortuga, though the crowds are no match for the one that gathers in the Faithful Bride, easily the most populated bar around the clock east of Trinidad.

From across the bar, a scrawly looking man pushes his way through the dazed crowd in silence, ignoring all the shouting and yelling that comes from the bar, the railings, and even the chandelier, where a few mad revelers swing and shout, spilling their drinks on the people below them. He doesn't want to draw any attention to him - and he does just that.

Meanwhile, outside in the city, a cloaked figure hurries his way through the desolant streets, emptied out by the rain. In and out between every alleyway and corridor he hides, watching over his shoulder. He can hear the heavy black leather boots pounding in to the ground, like they are closing in on him - though they are nowhere to be seen.

The pirate in the bar finally pushes his way to the goal, a little table reserved in the far corner of the tavern, around it sitting a few men. He looks at the two sitting directly across from him, and nods his head as he slides a small, folded piece of parchment across the table, to which a leathered, jeweled hand quickly snatches up.

Delmaria brings the piece of paper up to him, and reads it quickly. His face sparks with interest, as he shows it to Joshamee, who sits at his side. They both whisper back and forth at each other, before Delmaria turns back to the pirate. "Call out the crew."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Objective: Begin the Guild Quest by approaching Delmaria in the Faithful Bride on Tortuga ON ANTIK, with at least six readied crew mates.
Mission 45 ~ Rolling in the Deep
The shriveled old gypsy is sitting in the far corner of the Ratskellar, covered in layers of cloths and towels as she dries from her forced dip in to the ocean. Marina hangs over her old mentor quietly, watching her with worried eyes as she rubs her back. Even though she only knew her for a short time, she still feels an attachment to the woman.
You approach behind Valentina quietly, but it's evident she hears your group as her head turns over her shoulder. "I must thank you for that."
"It was our pleasure, Valentina." Marina ushers, sounding as though she repeated it for the thirtieth time.
"Well, I still must give them my thanks." Slowly the women begins to pull herself to her feet by holding on to Marina, but her knees buckle and she falls back down in a thud. She sighs as she rubs the pain in her back.
"Please, rest." Marina patterns over her.
"Yes, and while we do, we have a few questions for you." You tell her easily, kneeling down behind her.
"Anything, my child. Go ahead." Valentina nods, winded.
"What do you know... about the Headstone?"
Valentina freezes. She plants her hands firmly on the stone floor and begins to turn herself towards you, revealing a cold, bitter stare. She scowls intensely at each person in your group, and returns her vision to you. "No man deserves to know what I know.... GET OUT!" She screams at the top of her lungs, then turning her head to Marina. "Get them out NOW, Marina. NOW!"
Although often rebellious, Marina does as told and escorts you all to the door, talking under her breath as she does. "She doesn't want to budge, so investigate yourself." She stops you in the doorway, looking back to make sure she isn't looking. "Bev told me as you hunted for Valentina on the seas that there was some sort of journal that she had to throw in to the bay to keep the soldiers from taking at the fort.... I suggest you see if you can recover it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Objective: Swim in the Bay of Padres to recover the journal.
