Guild Invasion!
I think we should be able to invade another guild! Each guild would get an island with a small castle (where everything can be bought). Your goal is to collect gold to buy advanced defenses and to capture the enemy guild's treasure room.
Gold can be earned by defeating pirates, every pirate starts with 200 points. When you defeat a pirate, your points increase, and your guild gains gold equal to the points of that pirate. If you die, you lose points (will not go below 200) and become groggy for 1 minute (only inside the invasion.) The invasion and islands map will look similar to the svs islands, with one guild island at top, the other at bottom, and a stretch of sea in the middle. Your castle starts with 1 Basic Defense Tower (looks the same as Cannon Defense tower, up to 4 players can gun and defend invading ships) with 25k LP, a Basic Gate with 25k Lp, and several Basic Defense Cannons (manned by NPC) with 15k LP on the Castle Wall that will auto fire at invading ships. Gold can be used to buy various better Defense Towers that specialize in either boosting cannon round damage, or having tons of LP, or a little of both, they can also buy invading ships (light sloop to war frigate), better gates and better defense cannons (NPC) on the wall, which fire different types of ammo depending on the type of cannon. Defense Towers will operate the same as cannon defense. Players will use cannon defense rounds to shoot invading enemy guild ships (which can fire back), the level resets every time you play. (However, cannons on ships and sailing will use normal cannon rounds, skills and your current sailing/cannon level) Ships can be used to destroy enemy defense cannons and defense towers. Defense cannons (NPC) will give the same amount of gold when destroyed, depending on it's type. Players cannot directly harm another player when he/she is in a defense tower or ship. when a defense tower/ship gets destroyed, all players inside dies, and the enemy guild gains gold equal to the total points of all players inside the tower/ship x 1.3. When ships reach the shores of the enemy guild island, they can either dock on it or stay on the ship and take out enemy towers/def cannons. However, pirates are no safer on land! When you dock, cannon tower and defense cannons can now fire and deal damage directly to pirates! You can also be attacked by enemy pirates on land! Ships can also bring backup, as cannons on ships can also fire on pirates on land. Pirates on land can also attack defense towers/cannons using grenades or staff, or they can choose to attack the gate, when the gate is destroyed, they can enter the enemy's guild castle and reach the tresure room located in the heart of the castle. When they reach the treasure room, the pirate has to press shift to collect enemy gold ( a process of 10 seconds, can be interupted if attacked), if they successfully take the gold, they win! Nothing can be repaired! If something is damaged or destroyed, to get it back to full health, you must buy the item again! Items such as cannon towers, gates etc can only be bought by the guildmaster or an officer, but iIf a pirate reaches 2000 points, he/she will be granted that privilage too. This could be a pretty cool thing! I can also see it creating a ton of spam and unnecessary drama though.

I know for a fact that something like this (as awesome as it may sound) will cause All sorts of Drama, Grievance, and a plethora of assorted problems and issues between guilds.

I do see a lot of drama with this, especially since it is between guilds. I foresee things where a guild will go up to another and say something like "I bet my guild is better than yours!" and insert lots of arguing, and it finally ends in a heated battle like this.
Its a great idea, and I want to see it, just maybe in the form of a crew battle rather than between guilds. |
Even then, we are forgetting about glitchers.

Well Stealth this actually could be a smart way to just let the EITC and "allied" guilds just take it out on each other and their done, and they feel better. If this works you wouldn't see them fighting in public.

I feel that is is basically something pulled out of WoW, or Guild Wars, as Stealthy mentioned.
POTCO isn't made to be a extremely competitive game, where territories are fought over. One, it wasn't built to be able to handle it technologically. Two, it wasn't meant to withstand the battles socially either. I already see guild feuds, and I would wish to stop that from reaching another level. SvS and PvP is one thing, but it's not a guild sort of idea. It focuses more on the individual who wishes to test his/her mettle against many other fine pirates. Put in a Guild Warfare system, and people will start ranking themselves against one another. How many battles have you won? Against whom? Ah yeah, <insert guild name here> must be horrible. And <insert pirate name here> was the worst on their team! I just don't see this system working out for Pirates. Sorry mate! |

I don't neccesarly like this idea. I would rather spend time as a pirate fighting the Royal navy and EITC and Jolly Roger not fighting me own mates. It sounds too much in depth for just being able to pop in for 10 min to see whats up. I don't know many guilds that can supply that many pirates online unless its an event that would be able to crew ships defend their islands and all the sorts named above.

Awesome idea. Anyone who says this shouldn't happen probably isn't in a big guild or as a weak pirate. Someone email this to Disney.
