Release Notes - November 29, 2007

From the test server:

Release Notes - November 29, 2007
  • Founders program will be ending soon. This release will temporarily change your name tag to Non-Founder status. This will be reverted when we release a new publish.
  • Added quest tracking for the "return to a townsperson" step in a quest. When a quest is completed, a ray of light will point to the townsperson you need to return to.
  • Fixed a bug with players and ships popping back and forth suddenly.
  • Fixed a bug where grenades were hanging in mid air if someone else was also throwing a grenade.
  • Fixed strange movement of grenade that occurred when a player is moving.
  • Fixed an issue when switching to grenade that caused siege grenade to always be selected -- now your pirate will use the correct grenade ammo.
  • Fixed a bug where players wouldn't be able to move when reloading small grenades.
  • Slowed down player speed when they are using the Long Volley Grenade skill.
  • Fixed an issue with the Voodoo Doll Swarm skill that was not recording damage correctly at long range.
  • Fixed a problem with a ship being deployed but still retaining some speed from its previous use.
  • Added feedback for when teleporting to a friend fails because the friend is unavailable for teleport (for example: in jail, playing PVP, etc...)
  • Added more feedback for when boarding a ship fails (for example: ship sunk, ship had no more space, etc...)
  • Fixed an exploit with Voodoo Staff that would allow players to switch between low level and high level skills to avoid long charge times.
  • Fixed some bugs that were allowing players to move while charging the Voodoo Staff.
  • Updated some loading screen hints.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing more than one arrow to appear on the radar.
  • Added a quest journal notification at the end of Chapter 3.
  • Guild name submissions are auto-capitalized, and ALL CAPS are automatically removed.

No lag fixes. What are these guys thinking at PotCO? Ridiculous. Oh well... I'll head into the game and try out the new stuff... sigh...

NannerFL 11-30-2007 01:25 AM

HA! Lag issues? This IS Disney. In the 2+ years I've played TT they have yet to admit they even have one. At least with this game they admit it. Move to a less busy ocean....works every time.

At least they fixed the grenade bug. ;)

Will they ever fix the Black Pearl quest? I think it's been about 9 days that it's been down, which means I and anyone else stuck at that quest can't progress in the game at all beside from leveling up weapons. That should be on the top of their to do list because it's leaving played stranded with nothing to do but play with their weapons.

I played today and the ships suddenly appeared from nowhere, I boarded a ship and when I was fighting I got a msg about other ship ready to be boarded (by my crew and me).. it happened at least 10 times and after that I had to leave. Now I'm having the worst lag ever

Not for Paying/Regulrar Game

From the looks of it these updates have been applied to the "Test Server" and not the "Regular" server. This seems to be the trend at the moment, one gets updated before the other and then they eventually update the other one later. I could also be wrong on this but that is the way this looks to me.

Looking at the release notes on the homepage it shows that the the Sept. 29th have not been applied to the "Regular" game. Last update shows at the Nov. 20th updates. Keep your eves peeled for the updates to happen soon....I hope.

**Edit - As I just discovered these are posted for the "Test server", as the original post says....sorry about the mixup**

Yes, note that the first post starts with the phrase "From the test server:"

For people posting these in the future, it would be helpful to put the word "TEST" in your thread title. Thanks! :)

Ok so I was in test and I lost my name tag founder status thing, but there were other people that still had founder tags and some like me blue. Whats up with that?

A lot of grenade fixes... :dancetl6:

Cubkyle 12-02-2007 03:47 PM

Nice fixes. Now are they ever going to apply them to the live server?
I guess they'll do it on Monday.

It'd be nice if there was a Black Pearl mission fix in there...

Silver Beard 12-03-2007 04:23 AM
