Rides?
 

On POTCO, the fastest way to move is to drink a swift foot, which doesnt last forever and you have to make a potion.
On other MMORPG's, you can " buy " ( either coins or "SC" ) a "ride".
A rde is something that your character gets on and they move faster than just walking.
FreeRealms, for example, Have many rides. You have Stallions, Mares, Nightmares. and then you have " ball rides " which you get on and your character stays on blace and moves the ball. with thoe you have Beach balls, bowling balls, ect. You can also have T-rex's, which are all green except for the cyborgh one, which has different amour. Then, You get dragons, and undead dragons, and HOVERBOARDS.
Hoverboards, in my opinion, are the best rides in the game. There are Dwarftech, Precuser, elemental, ect.

I think in POTCO, we should have rides, such asa voodoo circle, which you pirate makes out of voodoo ( looks like aura but its purple) and your pirate floats on it and your pirate moves quicker.

To get a ride, you must be a lvl 40, and it costs 20,000 gold.

I think our ships our are rides :D our land is not that big that we need rides..

Well.... The setting is not modern. And I agree with Tom.

But our ships can sink, we cant sink on the rides.
POTCO may take place in the 1700's, but I dont think that they had undead creatures and magical dolls and staffs.

I agree, mounts would be a cool little side... I nice way to show off your pirate's accomplishments, as some could be rewards for deeds or challenges (others are buyable) . Though they aren't really needed since the islands are so small as it is. In other mmo's, where its just one big Pangaea-like chunk of land, you need a horse or a "hoverboard" like you were saying, but here, all you need is your ship. I for one am totally for having our own little piratey horses and such.. Just so we don't have to keep making swift foot potions that aren't all that cool to show off, not like a mount would be!

The reason they have the staffs and potions and that sort of stuff in game is because those were Legends that were around. Pirates were kinda known to be producers of the Dark Arts and they were mysterious. And I agree with Hector that those rides aren't modern. And it would also look weird with some people coasting around the island flying around on Hoverboards and Dinosaurs next to each other.

Wait, I have it we could ride parrots. If I remember correctly in Wills looking for Jack montage... ("Last I heard he was arrested in Port Royal grabbed two parrots flew off the cliff and landed on his ship") parrots could pick us up and we could move faster.

I honestly don't think that we really need rides. The islands aren't even that large, and its not really worth it. Plus, pirates went on foot or by ship. Its rare that you would have seen one riding a horse. We don't really need them. I'm happy going by foot, and if I'm in a rush I just drink a swift foot.
