Severly need help with kingshead barrels!
 

Hi i just started my grenades portion of my adventure in the carribean and for the last hour have been trying to plunder barrels around kingshead, i can get to the barrels or crates but when i start searching 1 - 5 lvl 23+ officers or veterans jump me and have killed me once. Ive finally gotten 5 of one and 4 of the other so i still have 11 barrels and crates to plunder and i cant do it alone. If anyone out there could help me id appreciate it alot i want my grenades badly, my best weapon is the voo doo doll at lvl 14 and cutlass at lvl 12 so i can hold my own just not against a brigade of lvl 20s. im going to tackel this quest and hopefully get my grenades tommorow so if you can help just reply or pm me when and where thanks!

I can help you. I'll be on tonight at 8pm PST in the top ocean. I'll meet you in Kingshead in front of the gate before you go in.

Tip!!!
Each time you change oceans the barrels are new again. This means you can search the easy (yes i know this is a relative term) barrels a second, third, fourth...etc time in different oceans. This comes in handy if you can't find help. I also suggest you go to Padres b4 heading to kingshead. It is a much shorter trip back if you land in jail.

Couple of tips for barrels (and crates) in Kingshead
(aswell in del Fuego and Port Royal):

Any searchable barrel or crate will yield an item during this quest.
problem is, as soon as you start searching the Guards will come running and attack you.

There are a few easy to get at barrels and crates, look for those first.
If there aren't any guards close by, you can search unattacked or maybe finish your search before a guard reaches you.

Try the top perimeter of the Forts.
Only a limited number of guards and a few isolated barrels.

Everytime you change oceans or log in, you can go back to the same barrels and crates. So if you find a couple that are easy to search, remember where they are and go back to them later.

have patience, because these searches can be frustrating...I searched crates and barrels until I was jailed, then gave up and came back to this quest at another time.

Hunt in pairs...one pirate is lookout and heads off the Guards while the other searches. If one player "dies", the other player can retreat from battle and the jailed player will be able to teleport back to them (without having to sail)...saves a lot of time and effort, and players can switch and alternate the search/fights.

Never mind i got the grenades!

I finished my Kingshead barrels & crates last night. I actually thought it was a very fun challenge to do it solo. I got all my barrels without help and without dying even once. It wasn't that difficult. If a level 17-20 is near a barrel, you kill him THEN search the barrel. If a level 20+ hits you while searching, just run, there are plenty of other barrels. The guards at Kingshead usually just chase you for a very short distance before they disengage.

Kingshead is a huge, cool place, and it's fun to explore the whole thing. I think I visited every inch of it while finishing this task.

Don't forget to search the crate outside of the gates :)
