Shadow Sorcerors Rules, Guidelines, and Requirements

Ahoy Mates! Interested in joining the Shadow Sorcerors guild? Well, before posting on our recruitment thread, I would recommend reading the following first.

Rules

Rule 1) Respect pirates inside and outside the guild! Respect inside our guild includes talking nicely to guildmates, being polite and friendly, and helping out. You are not truly required to help out, but it will give you a good reputation in our guild, and can get you promoted to an officer much faster. Also, please try to minimize your use of caps, it gets very irritating to guildmembers and myself. Exceptions are things such as: LOL, GRATS!, NICE! etc. Outside of the guild means to be kind to others, and give our guild a good reputation. Also, this includes saying please when asking for help, and thanking your guildmate/friend when you recieve it. If you are having problems being respectful, I will give you a single warning. If you continue, you will be booted.

Rule 2) You must participate in guild activities and events and interact with the guild. This applies for several things. First of all, you joined the guild and therefore you are expected to show to events. You don't need to show up for every single event, but you are expected to show up to a good amount. If you are able to give me a good excuse before the event for not showing, then that is fine. But when you don't show up without letting me or an officer know in advance, then that is bad. You won't be in trouble the first few times, but if it continues we may have a talk with you. You are also expected to socialize with your guildmates. If you never talk to the guild and are always extremely quiet, never having anything to do with the guild, then we may have a talk with you. When you join, you are expected to interact with the guild.

Rule 3) No drama in guild chat. This goes along with the first rule. We define "drama" as anything that can emotionally harm or bother guildmates. It also includes harassment of any kind, yelling, or anything that can irritate guildmembers. Also, keep any arguments outside of guild chat, as it can cause stress to myself and other guildmembers. Also, we dont want to hear about real life issues!!! If your boyfriend/girlfriend dumped you, we dont want to hear about it! If your relative died and you are mourning like mad and making everyone feel uncomfortable, we dont want to hear about it! Just keep guild chat clean please. If I get complaints from guildmembers about this, I will talk to the person, and give them a warning. If they fail to follow this rule, they get the boot.

Rule 4) Ask before teleporting. You all know what this means. Please do not teleport to a guildmate without permission unless it is implied that you can teleport. Those exceptions are if you are in a crew with guildmates and you launch a ship. They have full permission to board unless you said not to board beforehand. Other exception is if you are knocked out. If that is the case, and nobody is there to revive you, go ahead and give a quick little shoutout in guild chat saying something like "help please, I'm knocked out" and one of us will teleport to you. The reason this rule is here is because there are times when people want to be alone, and it is annoying when you teleport to them out of the blue.

Rule 5) Dont ask for promotions! It gets very annoying when me or a guildmate has to answer someone when they ask "Can I be officer?" It isn't that hard to please me mates! To be a veteran, it isn't that hard. If I see you actively talking to your fellow guildmates, helping out, and being a good member, that is the first part. I also want veterans to have at least two to three weeks in the guild. After you are a veteran, I will make you an officer when I feel you are ready for it.

Those are our rules. To join, you must agree to follow ALL of them. Some rules are enforced far stronger than others. For example, teleporting without asking once won't get you kicked out of the guild, but griefing members can. So make sure to read these rules through and through. If there are updates to them, I will post them and bump this thread.

These are not official rules, but it is common manners that we expect to see from guild members:

Ask before taking the wheel of someone else's ship. It's their ship, so they have the right to drive. Do not take it without permission.

Don't join the guild only to leave soon after. If you join, we expect you to stay unless you do not like the guild. If you do have a problem, contact me or a Council of Shadow member.

Watch yer caps in guild chat. Most people don't like caps spam, unless everyone is doing it together for fun.

NO CHEATING! Cheating includes anything from glitching to win a PvP or SvS match (since it is harming other players) to hacking the game. This is cheating the game and is unfair to other players, and can sometimes harm them. This, while it is not an official rule, can get you kicked out of the guild. Innocent glitches such as glitching into a wall are fine, so long as they don't harm other players.

Oh yes, have fun. We're a fun, family guild, and we want everyone to be happy.

Requirements to Join

First and foremost, you must be ready to follow ALL of our guild's rules. Failure to do so will result in warning(s). If you fail to listen to your warnings, you will be ejected from the guild.

You must be social and talkative. We don't want members that join and don't say anything except to yell out "help!" in guild chat when you are knocked out.

You must be ready to stay. If we aren't the type of guild for you, but you want to try us out, that is okay. If you are just a guild hopper who will join any guild they see, then please do not ask to join.

You must not be a drama causer. We don't want members joining who cause drama. You know the rules and the consequences for it. If I or another Sorceror has seen you cause drama in game, you will not be allowed to join. Likewise, if you have caused drama on POF (or any other sites) or you have been seen doing irritating posting styles (Posting continuously without truly needing to, Caps Lock Spam, or any other thing classified as irritating posting style), you will not be allowed to join. We don't want drama causers in the guild. Drama is defined above, in our rules section.

You must be ready to have fun!

If there are any questions, please PM me and I will be glad to help. :)

Now, below is our Guild Anthem. It is a part of us, and it is our guild. Like a national anthem, it describes our little nation, showing those little things that make us the Shadow Sorcerors. It is to be sung slowly, like reciting a hymn or poem. In the second to last line, tension should seem to build, and finally we all jump for joy, fire our guns, and make some noise as we recite our last line! Mates, I give you the Shadow Sorcerors Guild Anthem, Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors!

Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors!

Hail to the Shadow Sorcerors Guild!

See our swords cut down our foes,
And hear our guns fire and reload.
Black and Red they stand for might,
Teach us to never give up the fight.

Our family couldn’t be more close,
We have shown to each other what matters most.
Not that sword that or throwing knives,
It’s that our family and friendship never die!

And through these times our friendships build...

HAIL TO THE SHADOW SORCERORS GUILD!!!

Just like a lot of other guilds rules mate. Really not hard to follow :)

P.S if you are a captain of a crew or an officer and your going on a raid, are ye allowed to ask people to go some place or do something? just wanted to know :)

Tiberius Fireskull 03-09-2011 01:03 AM

We don't give orders. We ask people nicely to do something and then expect that they be polite and do it (with in reason...).

I'll close this thread. I don't want it getting comments. Should just be here so that people can see it.

Added in guild Anthem. I'll be closing the thread that has just that in it.

The officers and I have finished discussing the adding in of a new rule, and it has been passed. The rule is going to start being enforced as of November 1st, but you are all expected to start telling new members this rule before inviting them and you are expected to follow it yourselves.

Rule 2) Follow the Pirate's Code, has been replaced by a new rule that states the following:

Quote:

You must participate in guild activities and events and interact with the guild.
See the original post which has been edited for details about it.
