Game is now impossible?

Since their previous patch, I have tried 4 times to sail to tortuga back from cuba and get sunk everytime, this is making me very angry and im about to quit. How am I supposed to sail to Tortuga in my sloop with war frigates surrounding me everywhere I go?

Find a friend who can teleport and go to them? :) Or sit and watch their sailing patterns to try and avoid them

WDSnav 11-15-2007 09:06 PM

Don't have any friends, they don't sail in a pattern, sometimes they fly to random areas or appear out of nowhere.

Why don't you teleport to Port Royal and then sail to tortuga?

If you can't sail directly to Tortuga because of all the big ships, sail to Port Royal then to Tortuga. You can sail around the big ships.

Or sail to the closest island so that in case you get attacked, you are near enough to drop anchor at an island, then take off again.

Aww, I'll be your friend.

I've done the story quest up to the point where there is no more story quest,

So I'd be happy to help people or teleport them around. :)

You could also switch servers. If you don't know how to do that, bring up the game map. At the top of that window it tells you what server your on. Click the bar below it to bring a list of other servers. Click any one of those and your teleported to that server. The ships on that server should be differently configured. Good luck...

I don't have any teleporting totems, im already in an ideal server, and you can't just sail around big ships without them chasing you down.

Allure 11-16-2007 12:57 PM

Well do you have the speed sail yet? If not I suggest trying to level up your sails until you do. Then sail without using it until you're in a bind. I find this helpful to escape tight situations. So if you're sailing and see that some frigs are going to be awfully close to you, wait until you're almost right there and hit the speed sail. A lot of their broadsides should miss. Good luck :)

Yea it just happens that I do use that technique but they still always find me and sink me in one shot and then I go all the way back to Cuba...This game is really making mad, im probably just gonna quit. :(

Allure 11-17-2007 05:18 AM

:\ Bother don't do that

I'd be happy to help you get your teleport totems in a stress-free environment :/

easy, dont go in a slop!, get a light galleon or frigate at least and get some crew :)

Davy 11-17-2007 01:46 PM

All you have to do is observe them. Jack Sparrow wouldn't sail right by Davy Jones' ship and say "Hey Davy, don't shoot at me, I'm just passing through mate!" He'd avoid Davy's ship and take extra time to go around it.

Peggo 11-17-2007 02:58 PM

Matey, you need a bigger ship! Do some of the quest around Port Royal and earn yourself some gold.
And join the crew of another player to get a little revenge on those scurvy ships that keep sinking you. Besides you makes some nice coin to boot. As you level up you get more gold too.
The teleport quests are a big help. Finish them up as soon as possible.

WDSnav 11-17-2007 06:54 PM

I have a light galleon but I don't even make it as far as I do with a sloop.

Talion 11-19-2007 12:48 AM

i use a light sloop all the time if im just running from one place to the other, and i never have these problems unless i stop to look at the ships or try to attack them. even if i just set a cores and go strait through the middle of them. you can for sure sail around them. if all else fails hit your full sail and dodge the cannanballs.
