PvP Combat
I've got a few questions about PvP combat.
Is there anything to loose? Gold? Items? What's a good strategy? Should I go in with a pistol or a cutlass. And what level do you recommend going in? I don't want to get crushed by a level 20 player. |
There's nothing to lose and nothing to gain.
It's typically lower levels who try out PvP. I'd reccomend 15 or so, though. You can take in all your weapons, so fight with a cutlass up front and shoot 'em in the back if they run. |

Local bragging rights maybe?

If you are looking for some kind of points, or reward for it, then there is no point. |

I enjoy the PvP system, but the "matching" system does need a lot of work. I'm lvl 19 and been teamed up with a lvl 5 person and had the other team be lvl 22 and lvl 17. I've also done Mayheim where everyone else was lvl 12 or lower.

My questions about pvp combat are a little different in nature. According to the in game lore, you become technically undead while in pvp (i.e. take a piece of cursed gold from Cortez's chest in order to keep pvp from actually "killing" you). So, here is the million dollar question: Are pvp players considered living or undead? Important for several serious reasons, such as damage bonus of certain skills (ammo types) and also, spells of various sorts. It seems to me like these are important questions for anyone looking to be truly competitive in pvp.

I would guess during PvP you're considered undead, since you're not allowed to shoot anything living.
