**ALL NEW** Guide to Sinking Jolly Roger Ships

Ahoy mateys! Welcome to my new guide, how to sink Jolly Roger ships. Well, since I already finished the introduction, let's get started!
  • 1. Get a Galleon and 2 crewmen. Make sure they're good cannoneer's - you'll need good ones for this.
  • 2. Make sure your Full Sail and Come About skills are fully charged. Incase you get into a sticky situation you'll need both.
  • 3. Now comes the hard part (this takes patience, but the rewards are plenty). Set sail and find the ship you want to sink. Tell your crew to hold fire. Observe the ship's turning lines, then line your ship up within range of broadsides so the ship will turn so the front end faces you.
  • 4. Once the front end faces you and it's within range of broadsides, let those cannons fly! The ship will come straight towards you. Hopefully you can get 2-3 broadside shots in before it starts to turn when it's right next to you.
  • 5. By now, your 2 cannoneer's should be firing those cannons like mad. Tell them to use firebrand or lightning if they have it, if not just use plain round shot. Also tell them to aim for the rear of the ship. Once the JR ship comes right next to you, it will turn to it's left. Keep your ship sideways right on the nose of it. Make sure it can't turn sideways on you, or you'll get hit by their lightning bolts. Keep doing this until the ship is sunk. If you do it right, you should have used up about a fifth or a quarter of your ship's health.
  • 6. Should the other ship turn sideways on you, use Come About and turn your ship away from the enemy (to your right). Keep turning until you are again sideways to the enemy ship. Use Full Sail to get your ship lined up with the rear of the enemy, then fire away. If the broadside doesn't get close to killing the ship, run away, repair if necessary, and repeat steps 1-5.

I've used these tips to get 2, even 3 royal chests each time. I usually get Emeralds which give 90 gold per chest, so being the captain I make around 250 each haul.

Good luck matey! If you ened any help, just post here or PM me. Fair winds!

These are some great tips. Keeping the JR ship coming straight towards you is exactly the right thing to do. These tactics worked for me when I took down a JR ship by myself with my Frigate.

I can sink every ship in this game with my Galleon, without getting a cannon hit, without any crew. I did also with my light galleon, which takes a little more time. I love broadsides!

I just do what I do for any big ship...I pick one out, I wait for it to turn away from a group of ships (if there are more ships around) I float towards it aiming for the back of them, then when I'm getting close, I hit full sail, and depending on how I'm angled either i just slide up right behind them without getting hit, or I turn about to quickly turn and slip in right behind them. Then I trail behind them, moving my ship a little diagonal left and right, hitting them with my broadsides on the back half of their ship.

If that sounds confusing...

pretend the slashes are my ship /
and pretend l__l is the butt end of the enemy ship

so I go like

\ l__l
then I hit reverse to get back behind the ship
l__l
l
Then I just turn the other way while my right broadside guns are recharging
l__l /

don't slide up right next to the ship, just stick to the back end otherwise you will get hit :)

And usually that also helps them keep in a straight line, so a lot of the time I can manage to herd the ship away from the group of other ships. And once you're behind them, you're golden. You'll never get hit. (I can't say that for other weird ships that just decide to float over but usually I manage to miss them), You might get hit trying to manuever in there but once you get good at it, usually it's none to minimal damage.

BUT every once in awhile you do get that one crazy ship that just does something weird and keeps in a constant turn on you, I've had some crazy weird not normal battles with a few ships.

Hope that method helps as well :) I've used it for all levels and types of ships, works well for me at least. I suggest frigs or sloops for their speed and easy manuevering, sometimes galleons are just too slow- especially on war sloops.

Remember guys, my guide DOES NOT work for EITC or Navy Light Frigates, Frigates, or War Frigates. The only Frigate it works on is the Jolly Roger War Frigates. Try these tips also on Navy and EITC Galleon and Sloop class vessels. I sink Navy Monarchs from time to time!
