Do POTCO listen to out suggestions at all?

I often send POTCO suggestions, but often get the same reply, which shows no sign of they even reading it. Only once, I think by Kevin, i got a reply that showed he actually read every single sentence in my suggestion, as he was able to talk about all of them. This makes me wonder, how would they know if this is a suggestion, spam, or something with nothing to do with POTCO? It always said "your suggestion has been sent to the appropriate department, but how would they know what department to send to, if they dont even know what it's about?
This also makes me wonder if our ideas even reach the people making the game, or end up in the recycle bin. So.... it's experiment time!! I decided to add something that would have a high chance of showing if they read it or not, which I will announce later with the results, since this forum did win a recignization from POTCO, there's no telling if a developer do read from here, then inform all other ppl to answer to my test with results that would make them pass this test with flying colours to satsiify us.
Test 1 : POTCO did not read the whole suggestion!! They stopped at about 1/4.

Developers and staff at Disney are known to actively read forums and get to the player's level. I'm sure they actually listen to our suggestions, but may only be able to go through with a few of them due to current circumstances.

Yes... they do read them. I sent one a couple days ago, they sent me a reply in about a day, and told me that they were going to forward it to the Pirates Online Team for further review. That mean they do consider what people say.....

If you remember back a month or so, I posted something about an April Fools idea that POTCO could do, where they could make our swords toy swords, our voodoo dolls become barbie dolls, etc. I sent them an email, and the reply made me think that they actually really liked this idea. He even said "Maybe we could change all the ships into toy boats too!" That made me feel like this was an idea that they may do. I dunno, lets wait and see. :)

I do think that they listen to them. Most at least. The people who get the emails probably look over it for these things:
  1. Practicality. I'm sure that they would take on somewhat of a challenge, but if it is just plain and simply too hard or unideal to do, then they probably won't keep it, and it will end up in the virtual trash bin.
  2. Is it new? I'm sure they've gotten thousands of emails about the Kraken and Ship Customization, so I doubt they forward all of those unless it is something unique. Whats the point in forwarding an email if the idea is already being worked on?
  3. Quantity. I'm sure that if they like the idea, they show the developers, but the developers may not work on it until they get enough emails saying that the players want this. If just one or two players want this, then they should probably make something else that many other people would prefer to have. They can never make everyone happy, so they need to try to make the majority happy.

There are probably many more factors, but those are the factors that I can imagine would be up at the top of their list.

I'm going to send you 100 E-mails varying in Questions to Suggestions. You have till tomorrow to respond to them all. If you fail I will spam you 100 E-mails with nothing but complaints. Can you do it? Now you have an idea what it’s like to be them.

Dont forget these:

1. Plagarism. If it is something from POTBS or LOTRO, they most likely won't do this as it might lead to a court battle.

2. Something from the movie. If it from the POTC movies, then it will most likely have a higher chance of getting approved.

3.Patience- If you barely give them time to read the message and you think they haven't read they might have a big stack of suggestions to root through and haven't read it throughly.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
