Duchamps rum on rumrunners?
 

My friend and I have dug up at least 4 treasure chests, more than once, looking for it (including the spot it was found in on beta) and neither one of us has found it yet.

Anybody else having trouble with this?

EDIT: Nevermind, just found it in a spot I had dug at least one time in already.

I've spent at least an hour looking. It's so frustrating! I hope someone finds it & let's us know where it is!!!

Is that the one that was in the chest near the trap door on beta? If so, I kept trying in that area on open and never found it, so I ran over to the other side of the island to see if it was something to do with digging multiple times before getting it, and I found it over there on the first dig. So odd.

Yes, thats' the one. The first place I looked was over by the trap door, too, because that's where I'd found it in Beta. When it didnt give up the goods, my friend and I began searching in other dig sites and even dug in the spot by the trap door once or twice more. We searched a few more sites, and some of them several times. She finally found it, and I went over and tried. It didnt give it to me immediately, but did on the second attempt.

Last night another friend was having the same problem and I recommended she try digging in the same spot a few times. After several attempts in the same location she found it, but not sure which location that was.

I had the same problem digging up treasure for Karbay on Tortuga yesterday that I had found easily in Beta. Im beginning to think it might be random (and that any dig spot could work as long as you're on the right island), just as some will capture somebody off a ship on the first attempt and for others it may take many.

The dig spot is down the beach from the trao door, it is past the trail through the middle of the island, just in the grass line near the beach. There is a dread scorpian near it, along with regular scorpians, so watch your back. Hope this helps, i have a screen shoot at home, i will post latter.

Currently, I am on the quest to get Gunner to join the Black Pearl crew. I'm on the 25-year-old bottle of rum for Duchamps, which is supposedly with gold in a chest buried by Gerard behind a house in Tortuga. There's just one problem - everywhere I look, the tab that says "Nothing Interesting Here" comes up. Am I just looking in the wrong place?

If you can help, please do so.

The dig spot you're looking for is along the back wall of the "nice" part of Tortuga. If I remember right, go out the back gate next to the Faithful Bride, and it's slightly to the left and up (toward the bushes)

Try switching servers - I went to rum, to the place - to see it had already been "dug", and "nothing interesting" was there.

Switched servers, sailed back - and got it on the first try. EH.

Dug in the spot by the trap door twice, no barrel. Changed servers, dug again, and there it was.

I dug the spot by the trap door 4 times in a row and got it on the 4th try!

First post! Hi everybody! I am Ruby Red Jones online, notoriety 18. Just wanted to thank all who posted on this thread because it was driving me nuts! Can't wait to get home and try again!

I wasn't high enough level to get the teleport quest for PDF so I used my laptop to create a second free account. I parked that character on PDF and crewed with them so I could "port" to wherever I needed to go and then I used "go to" to get back to my crew member. It really sped things up for me.

I have learned quite a while ago that most dig spots, you have to dig up more than once (or twice, or ten times) to finally get the treasure. It's quite frustrating, esp when you show a noob where to dig and then you have to tell them "dig again!" :vshocked:
