Pirates help

Hey, before the update everything POC was running smoothly and now when I try to go to port royal I get an error message stating Pirates_Online encountered a problem and needs to close. I contacted POC's customer service and was given some options, I tried those but they didn't work. Has anyone encountered the same problem? Could it be because of the connectivity issues?
