Valuables and Cards...is there something I'm missing?
 

Ahoy Mateys!

Got a question about the valuables, cards, et all you sometimes get after defeating a foe....What the heck do we do with them? Is there a place to sell them? Are they just to collect? Will we need to turn them in on future quests?

Anyone?

If PotCO inserts a trading system into the game, we'll be able to trade those, possibly, for ships. I do wonder if we collect all the treasures if we get anything special ;)

I got all nine rogues in beta and nothing happened.

Yeah...I have all nine rouges right now and nothing happens...just sits there...and looks complete lol.

I almost have all the gold teeth, I'm missing like two...I was looking foward to a map to great treasure or something :(

The cards you can use to cheat in poker ;) ;) Just be careful and don't get caught!

So far the cheat cards are the only useful thing.

OK, color me slow..but I just got the card thing....LOL Had to play a few rounds of poker for a quest when all of a sudden I had the option to switch a card. Realized the cards available for me to switch were the ones I got off enimies I defeated. Whee, slow indeed :)

Anyone know what happens if you get "Caught" cheating? Can you get "caught" cheating?

So will the other items ever come in handy?

When you're cheating in a card game, sometimes your attempt to swap has failed but that's not being caught. You'll know when you're caught ;). You'll suddenly stand up from the table and it will let the whole table know you've just been caught cheating. Then it boots you into jail and charges you 100 gold :)

Though I'm pretty sure when you use the cards, you lose them :(

Yes, you do lose your cards. So only swap a card if it will give you a Full House or a Flush.

I got caught cheating in Padres Del Fuego, and was up around 10k. I lost all my winnings, and was thrown in jail

If you are cheating, you will notice a delay in dealing the next hand.
(The dealer is checking the cards)

If you are caught, text will appear telling you that the "dealer has checked the cards and you have been caught cheating..."

Immediately leave the table at this point...and you can avoid the trip to jail.
Has worked for me twice now!

Otherwise you lose all your table winnings for that sitting and go to jail.

One more piece of advice from a victim of it. If you're just starting a hand at poker, don't cheat till card 4-5 is layed down. I cheated in a 3 of clubs, and the second card he passed was a three of clubs.

Cheating
 

I too got caught cheating. This happened also when the card I switched was one that showed up. So indeed if for examplet two Queen of Hearts are on the table they know you are cheating. Since then I have not been caught like that but have had swaps fail. Either way the card is used and gone.
