Release Notes - November 5, 2007

* Fixed bug causing missing mouse pointer on Mac's
* Fixed a memory leak that was causing Pirates to take up more system memory over time
* Fixed Voodoo Doll attunement bugs where targets appeared to be attuned but were not taking damage
* Fixed the bug which caused your pirate be invisible in Tia Dalma's cutscene
* Fixed the bug which caused difficulty performing a cutlass combo while being attacked
* Removed warning about being too close to shore when you aren't steering the ship
* Made ships respawn in the world faster
* Fixed rare server crash caused by a pirate ship sinking. There may still be cases where your screen will hang indefinitely after sinking, in which case you will have to restart the game.
* Added new tips for the loading screens
* Fixed a bug where enemies were not healing properly after retreating
* Adjusted calculation for deciding when a server population is "ideal"
* Removed high level skeletons near Tortuga town
* Fixed bug in the healing option giving by NPC's that was giving players a speed and jumping boost
* Fixed several bugs that caused crashes when creating a pirate and using the "shuffle" button

Wow, nice to see they are still updating things even after release :)

Good news about the memory leak fix. Well, at least I think so, lol. I haven't been on the Test server recently and haven't started my Open character yet, so I'll have to check out the updates soon.

Oh man that high lvl undead was pretty annoying when I was low lvl (still am compared too many now)

Since this update, when I log in to the game, everything is grainy and blurry - I can't read a word anywhere and all characters, buildings, graphics basically are a mess. Anyone else having the same problem?

Game was working fine for me last night - played pretty late with no problems.

Hmm, not having any problems. If you haven't already done so, you might send Disney a screenshot. You might also screenshot your graphics settings (if they're readable).

The only thing I've noticed with the new version is that Murky Hollow is now very GREEN inside.

LOL, nothing is readable, not the options, not the hints, nothing, but I guess I'll send them a report and wait for my standard "Update your graphics drivers" email. ;)

And while I wait for that, I guess I'll update em if needed.

Joy. I don't see anything about fixing the bugged rum tasks I have on test. Guess that character will remain useless a bit longer.

Hey Vandelay, is that a Seinfeld reference? :P

EDIT: Now I can't change to full screen since this update. At first I thought I just picked a bad time, since I was launching my ship while attempting to go full screen, but I got back on and tried just standing on the sand and BOOM! I was outta there. Bah! Another bug, someone hand me the RAID!

Lady Freckles 11-06-2007 05:04 PM

Knowing that Disney was probably going to tell me to update my drivers, I went ahead and did so - problem fixed. Yay... :dancetl6:

don't you think that the game wasn't ready to be released? I do.

Silver Beard 11-06-2007 08:53 PM

It was close enough, all games have updates even if they are not online.

I think they did a good job.

Finally! Something I send in they finally fix.

Hopefully my game may run smoother now because of that first update.

Not at all, and considering some games that I have beta/alpha tested and actually played, it's in a perfectly playable state.

It doesn't lag much

Haven't had it crash from over 48hours+ of playtime

Basically, its stable, nothing wrong with the game that hinder/stops gameplay.

I'm hooked, allthough I don't know for how much longer after I get my frigate :P

Wendot 11-07-2007 02:35 AM

Am I the only one having problems since this update?

I can no longer log into Pirates successfully. It takes my password, it does the long waiting bar update and the black playing screen pops up for a moment and then it all closes down and gives me the laggy Report a Bug page. I'm so peeved by this, but I would be a bit more relieved if at least one other person had this same problem with this new change.

EDIT: It's working for me Wednesday morning now. Possibly due to more updates and maintenance while I was sleeping. Whatever it is, it works now and I'm happy!
