POTCO on game systems

well u can tell from the title that this is about potco on xbox360 psp and ps3 what do you guys think of a xbox live and psn expansion it would take time but would eventually be worth it dont u agree?

It would be impossible. The Consoles just can't handle a game like POTCO, or any MMO for that matter.

WitchdoctorDan 01-13-2011 04:08 AM

I wouldn't say impossible, but thoroughly unenjoyable and really bad and laggy, decreased server size, loading problems, and no SP; making it unattractive to most solitary gamers. And no chat, only voice chat, which Disney would probably forgo, leaving NO chat. It would be a terrible waste of time, resources, money, and just a generally bad idea. First off, the loading would be ridiculous, a huge load on start, then another huge load after picking a pirate (which would probably be reduced to one pirate per GT), then another huge load on entering/exiting an island or building, huge lag on top of the already ludicrous lag in effect on PC, graphics glitches, less freedom, less friends, I couldn't imagine a bona-fide guild, etc., etc.. If I tried to list it all, it would be all day. It ain't gonna happen and it would be a laughable mistake if it did.

I personally am happy with it on a computer. If they could figure out a way to make it work WELL on a console, like a Wii, then I would play it for sure. But more than likely, almost certainly actually, it will just be laggy, glitchy, and not fun.

The Skirata Clan 01-13-2011 04:31 AM

Yes, because lag and glitches don't exist now.

The Evil Will Mcbain 01-13-2011 04:55 AM

I seem to detect a hint of sarcasm ,lol

Witchdoctor you're right it's not impossible, but it would be very unenjoyable. With todays technology it wouldn't work on a console, but who's to say we won't see POTCO on the Xbox 720, PS4, or Wii 2?

It's not impossible, but it would be a ton of work. A friend of mine has been able to port games from system to system, I don't see why POTCo would be an exception.

Well my friend, there is a exception. ITS ILLEGAL. Simple as that. LoL

I agree with everyone above me. It would make a poor poor game.

titanic95594 01-14-2011 12:27 AM

That would cost some jonny big bucks right there to add that, who knows it could happen!

Captain Del 01-14-2011 01:00 AM

Why would this be necessary?

Why would we want the POTCO Developer Team to spend countless hours on creating a way for this game to be played on a console, when they could be improving the game itself? I don't know about you guys, but if I want to play POTCO, I can just go on my computer.

Crestshot 01-14-2011 01:06 AM

Why make POTCO for a game system when they already have the games connected to the movies? We seem to forget that this game is only there to promote the movies, not the other way around. That, plus all the aforementioned stuff, makes it seem unnecessary to make it for console.

Nate Swordwalker 01-14-2011 01:23 AM

This would only be a secondary option if you were unable to locate a computer that could play the game. Then I would play on a console.

When I buy a song off of iTunes, it comes in an m4a format. Maybe I don't like m4a format, so I change it to an mp3. How's that illegal? Pretty much the same concept here. If anything, Disney may not like you modifying their game files and you could get terminated for it, but that is by no means against federal law (as far as I know).

Back on topic, I concur with Captain Del on the subject as to whether or not it should be ported to an Xbox (or any other console).

They didn't mean that moving POTCO to a console is illegal, they said that moving a game from one console to another is. Because, in order to change a game's console you have to modify it, which can't be done on a console so you have to rip it to a Dvd-R. THAT part is illegal.
