Confusing Rep/Report Buttons
 

Recently I have been adding some rep, and I click on the button that looks like it should give rep, but in reality, that's the report button.

If you just look at the rep/report button area and mouse over it, the report button should be the one that looks like the one in-game. I would like this fixed if possible, as I don't wish to click "Report" when in reality I want to give rep.

Not sure if it's just my forum skin (probably not) because I use the default skin.

I know, I do, but the report symbol from in-game is the reputation button and used to be the other way around (I think).

In game, the exclamation mark button is the moderation button, which brings up Ignore, Report, and Boot From Ship. I think that the pen with paper is the report button in game as well.

I would agree that the add rep button could be changed...

Well this would be hard trying to convience the admins to do this. Really it takes experience how to do what your doing.

Whats the reputation button do?

It adds to peoples reputation. If I am correct, it is how you get those rum bottles next to your name. If someone does a good post, you add to their rep. Like, how I am helping ya now... You could add to my rep if ya want ;)

Yes, thats the idea. It gives people rep. Every 100 rep points you get, you get another bottle. I currently have 101, so I have two rum bottles. The more rep you have, the more rep you can give. You cannot give to the same person more than once in a row, and only give it if you find the post really worthy of it. It is not something to do for a friend, just because they are your friend. I think that there is a thread about it somewhere around...

Well, yes, the pen and paper is the Report button AFTER you click the ! button for "Moderation". But still, it seems like the rep button now (The !) should be report, as it looks more like a report button. The pen and paper should be adding to reputation.

The problem with swapping the current icons with each other would be that players who already get it might have complaints if they were switched. One way or another people aren't going to be happy. The best I can suggest is just scroll over the buttons before sending rep or reports. Also, it does open up a box to write why you want to report a post so if you don't just click your browswer's back button and you're good.
