Raven's Cove Boss, and other bosses.

I had another hair-brained idea. (what else is new?) All of the ideas that Smasho should drop rares, and he should drop skull chests, and yadda yadda yadda, might not end up that fun in the long run. What's the point of fighting other enemies if you're going to get all of the weapons in the game by killing this fairly easy boss? SO, I figured a treasure system would be in order.

Ex: Disney would have to create new vendors on the main islands, or to make it interesting, only on the wild islands, so we'd have to sail there. These vendors would be like pirate barterers, similar background to the new "Peddlers." (They looted and stole to get their items, just to give them a fun story.)

These barterers would sell a plethera of weapons, from level 1-30, and also by notoriety levels. BUT, these weapons would not cost gold, they would cost "treasure". This treasure would be obtained by bosses around the Carribbean. IF the boss is on-level to you or higher (of course there would be lee-way on this. if the boss is level 10 and you are level 15, you'd still get the treasure drop. basically, if the boss isn't grey) a special item would drop, treasure, that would go in a seperate pouch, and would be tradable for advanced weapons. The reason levels matter is because some people will sit for hours one shotting that scorpion boss in the Wildwoods, making it no challenge in getting the treasure token.

These weapons are only usable by unlimited access players. Basic Access players, however, can still receive tokens, but are limited in the amount they can hold, say 100. Though, if the player never intends to pay to play, then they will have no use for them anyway, because they can't redeem them. This is just another thing to make those basics drool and want to subscribe :D Of course, though, Disney will find a way to let basics get some weapons, like advanced crude ones that can be sold in a seperate category at the vendor, allowing our grey friends to share in the fun.

For the high level rare, famed, and even maybe a legendary weapon or so, you'd need A LOT of treasure tokens. For legendary, I'd say around 100, and maybe 50 for famed, and 25 for rare. Let me remind you that those are high level ones. In the early game, the items would cost no more then 1-10 tokens, but would put you a step ahead in the Caribbean.

Also, they might want to consider making common enemies drop them, but extremely rarely.

Note: From levels 1-25, you'd get a different token than the level 25-50 bosses. This means that you can't redeem a low level token for a high level weapon, make sense?

Finally, in the barter menu of the merchants, there would be a long list of weapons, that are particular to each server (this means hopping from server to server you'd find different weapons for sale, but all vendors on one server sell the same stuff), BUT once you buy a weapon from that vendor on that particular server, it will change into another weapon of the same calibur, just to make it interesting for everyone.

This type of thing is something pirates have needed for a long time. Something to make obtaining weapons not quite as random, and you won't have to grind for days with nothing to show for it. Now you get to prove your hard work to everyone with these treasure vendors.

I hope you like my idea, and happy pirating!

Great idea! i think it should be run by players, to make the game interesting.

I really like this idea. It would add a nice addition to the game's economy. However...

How about this. There are three types of tokens. Copper, Silver, and Gold. Copper are mostly obtained by enemies about level 1-20, Silver by enemies level 20-40, and Gold by enemies level 40 and above (in case they raise the enemies levels). Bosses will drop the type of token that is above their level range. So this means if you fight Darkhart, who is 28-35, he will still drop gold, because he is a boss. If the boss is level 40-50, like Mr. Smasho, they would drop more than one token, one being gold.

Now, here is where more economy comes in. So that we don't have level 10 players going after Mr. Smasho just to get a gold token. Ten copper tokens are the same as 1 Silver token, and 5 silver tokens equal one gold, meaning 50 copper is the same as 1 gold. Numbers could be changed around, but I think those numbers would be a good start.

Otherwise, great idea! I really like it!

That could work Davy, great thinking! :D

I think this is interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing this in-game - it would give me something to do other than Fleets.

I'd like them to replace the current, pathetic, Treasure system, with one where you can ACTUALLY collect stuff.

Like getting a twig from a Stump for a quest? Handing that over to a gypsy, or using voodoo to make a staff out of it?

Or finding a metal hilt and then taking it for smelting, welding and hammering to make a sword of your own? Or killing crabs -> click on crab meat on floor -> keep crab meat -> eat meat?

Yes, something like that but more complex (because there will be naturally LOADS of items you can find and do stuff with.)
