A hint for whats to come?
 

If you have checked the recent release notes, if you do a Boss Battle, you have a chance to get a "Summon Chicken" potion, which they call a pet potion. I was thinking that this could be a hint of something. Perhaps in the near future, as in December or January, they will be adding pets. I sure hope it isn't by potions, but this is what I had in mind.

They would set up new vendors on the islands, and they would sell pets. Pets that you could buy would include Parrots (DUH), monkeys, dogs, chickens, snakes, pigs, heck! maybe even a crab! You would be able to choose the feather/fur/skin color of the animal (to a certain extent.. no blue pigs for example) and for monkeys, the clothing as well. Whether or not they should be able to do something for you, I don't know. I would leave that up to Disney to decide.

Anyway, what do you think of pets? And do you think this may be a hint of what is to come? If you remember, they tend to give us little teasers right before a big update, and perhaps the cluck cluck potion is one of them.

Interesting idea mate, I like it. But if they didn't do something, I would be very disappointed. They would just follow you around and do nothing? Kinda boring. I want a monkey that can revive me, a dog that can get me ammo when I'm low in tormenta, and a parrot that can pickpocket the local navy. Now THAT is my idea of a good pet system! ;)

Well, seeing as how the Pet Chicken doesn't really do anything, I don't see the other pets being able to do much. I was thinking, however, that the pets could give a boost to a certain skill - I.E. Snake = Boost to all Poison attacks (Adder, Venom Shot, Venom Strike, etc. ).

Disney has recently been giving quite a few hints of future stuff, I think it's all being done on purpose (not saying it IS on purpose). For what reason, I don't know, but it's probably to keep us all alive by the time those things are released.

Well, adding PETS was one of the questions on the survey.

A dog that carries around a key to get you out of jail. And to taunt other people who are in jail by hanging just out of distance... now that would ROCK.

How could I forget the Kraken! Obviously. We could put a little leash around its neck, and train it to drink tea, and dress up! That would be an amazing pet! :D

maybe for a parrot adds a REP bonus? or maybe a gold boost?

maybe for the dog it can carry a key which removes groggy?

possibly, maybe for monkeys, they give a health boost? ( hehe, monkey panic )

I LOL'ed quite a bit at that...what an amazing mental picture! =P

I'm wouldn't mind having pets that helped do things (especially fetching ammo!) and I think it would add a lot to the game.

That being said...I'd hate to be anywhere near Abassa Tortuga if they were just vanity pets that you could summon whenever. The lag...::shudder::
